Founded in early 1993 by the Sikh Sangat of Augusta, Guru Singh Sabha of Augusta is located at 4031 Evans to Lock Road in Evans, Georgia. The land was purchased under the Khalsa Diwan Trust, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation, and the second Gurdwara building was constructed in 1996 to serve the growing Sikh population. Many community members arrived in the late 1980s to work at the Savannah River Site nuclear facility and Plant Vogtle, which opened in 1987.
