How to Claim & Manage Your Gurdwara

A simple, step-by-step guide to taking control of your gurdwara’s presence on Gurdwaras.com.

What claiming gives you

Claiming verifies that you represent the gurdwara and lets you keep its information accurate and up to date — manage details and photos, post events and announcements, and see prayer bookings and donation activity. It is free.

Before you begin

You need to be signed in to submit a claim. If you see an “Unauthorized” message, it simply means you are not logged in yet — create an account or sign in (Step 1) and try again.

1

Create a free account (or sign in)

You must be signed in before you can claim a gurdwara — this is the single most common thing people miss. If the claim form shows an “Unauthorized” message, it means you are not signed in yet.

  • New here? Create your account using your name and an email you control (ideally an official one, e.g. name@yourgurdwara.org).
  • Already have an account? Sign in.
  • Forgot your password? On the sign-in page click “Forgot your password?” and follow the email link to set a new one.
2

Find your Gurdwara

Open the Claim your Gurdwara page and start typing your gurdwara’s name in the search box (type at least 2 characters), then select it from the results.

You can also browse the Gurdwaras Directory or Find Nearby Gurdwaras, open your gurdwara’s page, and click “Claim this Gurdwara.

Can’t find your gurdwara? Add it first via Submit a Gurdwara, then come back to claim it.

3

Submit your claim

Fill in the claim form:

  • Your full name — the person responsible for the listing.
  • Your role — e.g. manager, committee member, granthi, or trustee.
  • Email & phone — how our team can reach you to confirm.
  • Notes — anything that helps verify your connection to the gurdwara (official email domain, your position on the committee, the listed phone number, social-media admin access, etc.).

Then press Submit Claim. Please only claim a gurdwara you are genuinely authorized to represent — false claims can lead to permanent suspension.

4

Verification & approval

Our team reviews each claim — usually within 24–48 hours— and may contact you at the email or phone you provided. You’ll get an email once your claim is approved.

Once approved, your gurdwara shows a verified badge and you become its administrator.

5

Manage your Gurdwara

After approval, go to your Dashboard and open your gurdwara to manage everything in one place:

  • Details — address, phone, website, social links, timings, and the “about” description.
  • Photos — add a cover photo and gallery images.
  • Events — post gurpurabs, programs, and nagar kirtans.
  • Announcements — share updates with your sangat.
  • Bookings & Donations — view prayer bookings and donation activity.
  • Reports — see how your listing is performing.
