Gurdwara Bohri Sahib in Kot Khalsa traces its origins to a majestic banyan tree (bohri in Punjabi) and a nearby well where weary travelers would rest. Beginning in 1594, Guru Arjan Dev would stop here to rest during his frequent travels between Amritsar and Guru Ki Wadali, a practice continued by Guru Hargobind after him. The surrounding village was later renamed Kot Khalsa in recognition of its Sikh heritage, particularly after it became the site of the renowned Khalsa College, founded in 1890.
