Set up a monthly Daswandh pledge and support the platform that keeps the gurdwara directory, prayer services and community tools free for the global Sangat.
Daswandh (also written Dasvandh or Dasvand) is the practice of giving a tenth of what you earn. In Sikh life it belongs to Vand Chakko, sharing with others, together with Kirat Karni (earning honestly) and Naam Japna (remembering the Divine).
A monthly pledge turns the intention into a habit: one decision, then it happens each month without having to remember.
Daswandh, also spelled Dasvandh, is the Sikh practice of giving one-tenth (das means ten, vandh means share) of your earnings in service of the community. It sits alongside Naam Japna and Kirat Karni (honest work) in the teaching of Vand Chakko, sharing what you earn with others.
Take one-tenth of your earnings for the month. Many Sikhs use income after tax; others use gross. Follow the practice your family or your sangat follows. The calculator on this page does the arithmetic for a figure you enter.
Your pledge goes to Gurdwaras.com, the platform that runs the gurdwara directory, prayer services and community tools. It is a donation to the platform, not to an individual gurdwara, and it is not a tax receipt. If you want to give Daswandh to your local gurdwara, give to them directly as well.
Yes. Email support@gurdwaras.com from the address you pledged with and we will change or cancel it. Payments already made are not refunded.
