Gurdwara Mal Akhara Sahib Patshahi Chevi commemorates the wrestling arena (Mal Akhara) system established by Guru Angad Dev, the second Sikh Guru, who promoted physical fitness alongside spiritual education. At this site, Guru Angad organized wrestling matches for children, opened the first Gurmukhi school, and conducted campaigns against intoxicants and social evils. Emperor Humayun is said to have visited Guru Angad here while the Guru was teaching children, and the site became a key venue for the Guru's religious gatherings and discourses to the Sikh Sangat.
