About
Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib commemorates the town of Kartarpur founded by Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru who completed the construction of the Harmandir Sahib and compiled the Adi Granth. A historic sandalwood post (Tham) stands inside the Gurdwara where Guru Arjan Dev struck it into the ground declaring, "This shall be the support of our faith." The Guru also had a well dug here for the local community, and it remains a place of pilgrimage for Sikhs honoring his enduring legacy.
