About
Gurdwara Takhtupura Sahib, also known as Nanaksar Sahib, is located in the village of Takhtupura near Moga and was sanctified by visits from Guru Nanak, Guru Hargobind, and Guru Gobind Singh, with separate shrines dedicated to each Guru surrounding a beautiful Nanaksar sarovar. Guru Nanak engaged in dialogue with Siddh Yogis at the site, Guru Hargobind camped here after winning the Battle of Mehraj in 1634, and Guru Gobind Singh bathed in the sarovar in January 1705 while traveling from Raikot to Dina. The sarovar was partly paved by Maharaja Ranjit Singh's general Dhanna Singh Malwai and completed with a marble parikrama in 1921.
