ਜੋ ਜੋ ਪੀਵੈ ਸੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ॥
jo jo peevai so tirapataavai ||
Whoever drinks this in, is satisfied.
ਅਮਰੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
amar hovai jo naam ras paavai ||
Whoever obtains the Sublime Essence of the Naam becomes immortal.
ਨਾਮ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨਿ ਵੂਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
naam nidhaan tiseh paraapat jis sabadh guroo man vooThaa jeeau ||2||
The Treasure of the Naam is obtained by one whose mind is filled with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||2||
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਨਾ ॥
jin har ras paiaa so tirapat aghaanaa ||
One who obtains the Sublime Essence of the Lord is satisfied and fulfilled.
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਨਾਹਿ ਡੁਲਾਨਾ ॥
jin har saadh paiaa so naeh ddulaanaa ||
One who obtains this Flavor of the Lord does not waver.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
tiseh paraapat har har naamaa jis masatak bhaageeThaa jeeau ||3||
One who has this destiny written on his forehead obtains the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਇਕਸੁ ਹਥਿ ਆਇਆ ਵਰਸਾਣੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ॥
har ikas hath aaiaa varasaane bahutere ||
The Lord has come into the hands of the One, the Guru, who has blessed so many with good fortune.
ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਭਏ ਘਣੇਰੇ ॥
tis lag mukat bhe ghanere ||
Attached to Him, a great many have been liberated.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਰਲੀ ਡੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੨॥
naam nidhaanaa gurmukh paieeaai kahu naanak viralee ddeeThaa jeeau ||4||15||22||
The Gurmukh obtains the Treasure of the Naam; says Nanak, those who see the Lord are very rare. ||4||15||22||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Maajh, Fifth Mehla:
ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੈ ॥
nidh sidh ridh har har har merai ||
My Lord, Har, Har, Har, is the nine treasures, the supernatural spiritual powers of the Siddhas, wealth and prosperity.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੈ ॥
janam padhaarath gahir ga(n)bheerai ||
He is the Deep and Profound Treasure of Life.
ਲਾਖ ਕੋਟ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਰੰਗ ਰਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
laakh koT khuseeaa ra(n)g raavai jo gur laagaa paiee jeeau ||1||
Hundreds of thousands, even millions of pleasures and delights are enjoyed by one who falls at the Guru's Feet. ||1||
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ॥
dharasan pekhat bhe puneetaa ||
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all are sanctified,
ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤਾ ॥
sagal udhaare bhaiee meetaa ||
and all family and friends are saved.
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
agam agochar suaamee apunaa gur kirapaa te sach dhiaaiee jeeau ||2||
By Guru's Grace, I meditate on the Inaccessible and Unfathomable True Lord. ||2||
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਖੋਜਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਉਪਾਏ ॥ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਪਾਏ ॥
jaa kau khojeh sarab upaae || vaddabhaagee dharasan ko viralaa paae ||
The One, the Guru, who is sought by all-only a few, by great good fortune, receive His Darshan.
ਊਚ ਅਪਾਰ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਥਾਨਾ ਓਹੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇਖਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
uooch apaar agochar thaanaa oh mahal guroo dhekhaiee jeeau ||3||
His Place is lofty, infinite and unfathomable; the Guru has shown me that palace. ||3||
ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
gahir ga(n)bheer a(n)mirat naam teraa ||
Your Ambrosial Name is deep and profound.
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭਇਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੇਰਾ ॥
mukat bhiaa jis ridhai vaseraa ||
That person is liberated, in whose heart You dwell.
ਗੁਰਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਟੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੩॥
gur ba(n)dhan tin ke sagale kaaTe jan naanak sahaj samaiee jeeau ||4||16||23||
The Guru cuts away all his bonds; O Servant Nanak, he is absorbed in the poise of intuitive peace. ||4||16||23||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Maajh, Fifth Mehla:
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
prabh kirapaa te har har dhiaavau ||
By God's Grace, I meditate on the Lord, Har, Har.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆ ਤੇ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਉ ॥
prabhoo dhiaa te ma(n)gal gaavau ||
By God's Kindness, I sing the songs of joy.
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਗਲ ਅਵਰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
uooThat baiThat sovat jaagat har dhiaaieeaai sagal avaradhaa jeeau ||1||
While standing and sitting, while sleeping and while awake, meditate on the Lord, all your life. ||1||
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀਆ ॥
naam aaukhadh mo kau saadhoo dheeaa ||
The Holy Saint has given me the Medicine of the Naam.
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਥੀਆ ॥
kilabikh kaaTe niramal theeaa ||
My sins have been cut out, and I have become pure.
ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਕਸੀ ਸਭ ਪੀਰਾ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਦਰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
anadh bhiaa nikasee sabh peeraa sagal binaase dharadhaa jeeau ||2||
I am filled with bliss, and all my pains have been taken away. All my suffering has been dispelled. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
jis kaa a(n)g kare meraa piaaraa || so mukataa saagar sa(n)saaraa ||
One who has my Beloved on his side, is liberated from the world-ocean.
ਸਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਡਰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
sat kare jin guroo pachhaataa so kaahe kau ddaradhaa jeeau ||3||
One who recognizes the Guru practices Truth; why should he be afraid? ||3||
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਏ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਉ ਗਈ ਬਲਾਏ ॥
jab te saadhoo sa(n)gat paae || gur bheTat hau giee balaae ||
Since I found the Company of the Holy and met the Guru, the demon of pride has departed.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਢਾਕਿ ਲੀਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੜਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੨੪॥
saas saas har gaavai naanak satigur ddaak leeaa meraa paRadhaa jeeau ||4||17||24||
With each and every breath, Nanak sings the Lord's Praises. The True Guru has covered my sins. ||4||17||24||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Maajh, Fifth Mehla:
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
ot pot sevak sa(n)g raataa ||
Through and through, the Lord is intermingled with His servant.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥
prabh pratipaale sevak sukhadhaataa ||
God, the Giver of Peace, cherishes His servant.
ਪਾਣੀ ਪਖਾ ਪੀਸਉ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹੀ ਕਾ ਆਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
paanee pakhaa peesau sevak kai Thaakur hee kaa aahar jeeau ||1||
I carry the water, wave the fan, and grind the grain for the servant of my Lord and Master. ||1||
ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
kaaT silak prabh sevaa laiaa ||
God has cut the noose from around my neck; He has placed me in His Service.
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
hukam saahib kaa sevak man bhaiaa ||
The Lord and Master's Command is pleasing to the mind of His servant.
ਸੋਈ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਮਾਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
soiee kamaavai jo saahib bhaavai sevak a(n)tar baahar maahar jeeau ||2||
He does that which pleases his Lord and Master. Inwardly and outwardly, the servant knows his Lord. ||2||
ਤੂੰ ਦਾਨਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਨਹਿ ॥
too(n) dhaanaa Thaakur sabh bidh jaaneh ||
You are the All-knowing Lord and Master; You know all ways and means.
