ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਕਉ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
sarab jeeaa kau dhevanahaaraa ||
He is the Giver of all souls.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
gur parasaadhee nadhar nihaaraa ||
By Guru's Grace, He blesses us with His Glance of Grace.
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਮਹੀਅਲ ਸਭਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਣੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਨ ਪਖਾਲੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
jal thal maheeal sabh tirapataane saadhoo charan pakhaalee jeeau ||3||
The beings in the water, on the land and in the sky are all satisfied; I wash the Feet of the Holy. ||3||
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
man kee ichh pujaavanahaaraa ||
He is the Fulfiller of the desires of the mind.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
sadhaa sadhaa jaiee balihaaraa ||
Forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਿ ਰਤੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਸਾਲੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੨॥੩੯॥
naanak dhaan keeaa dhukh bha(n)jan rate ra(n)g rasaalee jeeau ||4||32||39||
O Nanak, the Destroyer of pain has given this Gift; I am imbued with the Love of the Delightful Lord. ||4||32||39||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
maajh mahalaa panjavaa ||
Maajh, Fifth Mehla:
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਧਨੁ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
man tan teraa dhan bhee teraa ||
Mind and body are Yours; all wealth is Yours.
ਤੂੰ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
too(n) Thaakur suaamee prabh meraa ||
You are my God, my Lord and Master.
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋਰੁ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
jeeau pi(n)dd sabh raas tumaaree teraa jor gopaalaa jeeau ||1||
Body and soul and all riches are Yours. Yours is the Power, O Lord of the World. ||1||
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
sadhaa sadhaa too(n)hai sukhadhaiee ||
Forever and ever, You are the Giver of Peace.
ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
niv niv laagaa teree paiee ||
I bow down and fall at Your Feet.
ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਾ ਜੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਾ ਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
kaar kamaavaa je tudh bhaavaa jaa too(n) dheh dhiaalaa jeeau ||2||
I act as it pleases You, as You cause me to act, Kind and Compassionate Dear Lord. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਲਹਣਾ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਗਹਣਾ ॥
prabh tum te lahanaa too(n) meraa gahanaa ||
O God, from You I receive; You are my decoration.
ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਹਣਾ ॥
jo too(n) dheh soiee sukh sahanaa ||
Whatever You give me, brings me happiness.
ਜਿਥੈ ਰਖਹਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੁ ਤਿਥਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਭਨਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
jithai rakheh baiku(n)Th tithaiee too(n) sabhanaa ke pratipaalaa jeeau ||3||
Wherever You keep me, is heaven. You are the Cherisher of all. ||3||
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
simar simar naanak sukh paiaa ||
Meditating, meditating in remembrance, Nanak has found peace.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
aaTh pahar tere gun gaiaa ||
Twenty-four hours a day, I sing Your Glorious Praises.
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਦੁਖਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੪੦॥
sagal manorath pooran hoe kadhe na hoi dhukhaalaa jeeau ||4||33||40||
All my hopes and desires are fulfilled; I shall never again suffer sorrow. ||4||33||40||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Maajh, Fifth Mehla:
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਘੁ ਪਠਾਇਆ ॥
paarabraham prabh megh paThaiaa ||
The Supreme Lord God has unleashed the rain clouds.
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਵਰਸਾਇਆ ॥
jal thal maheeal dheh dhis varasaiaa ||
Over the sea and over the land-over all the earth's surface, in all directions, He has brought the rain.
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਭਈ ਬੁਝੀ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
saa(n)t bhiee bujhee sabh tirasanaa anadh bhiaa sabh Thaiee jeeau ||1||
Peace has come, and the thirst of all has been quenched; there is joy and ecstasy everywhere. ||1||
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
sukhadhaataa dhukh bha(n)janahaaraa ||
He is the Giver of Peace, the Destroyer of pain.
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਕਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਸਾਰਾ ॥
aape bakhas kare jeea saaraa ||
He gives and forgives all beings.
ਅਪਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਪਇ ਪੈਰੀ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਮਨਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
apane keete no aap pratipaale pi pairee tiseh manaiee jeeau ||2||
He Himself nurtures and cherishes His Creation. I fall at His Feet and surrender to Him. ||2||
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
jaa kee saran piaa gat paieeaai ||
Seeking His Sanctuary, salvation is obtained.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
saas saas har naam dhiaaieeaai ||
With each and every breath, I meditate on the Lord's Name.
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਭ ਤਿਸੈ ਕੀਆ ਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
tis bin hor na dhoojaa Thaakur sabh tisai keeaa jaiee jeeau ||3||
Without Him, there is no other Lord and Master. All places belong to Him. ||3||
ਤੇਰਾ ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
teraa maan taan prabh teraa ||
Yours is the Honor, God, and Yours is the Power.
ਤੂੰ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੇਰਾ ॥
too(n) sachaa saahib gunee gaheraa ||
You are the True Lord and Master, the Ocean of Excellence.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੪॥੪੧॥
naanak dhaas kahai bena(n)tee aaTh pahar tudh dhiaaiee jeeau ||4||34||41||
Servant Nanak utters this prayer: may I meditate on You twenty-four hours a day. ||4||34||41||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Maajh, Fifth Mehla:
ਸਭੇ ਸੁਖ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਠੇ ॥
sabhe sukh bhe prabh tuThe ||
All happiness comes, when God is pleased.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠੇ ॥
gur poore ke charan man vuThe ||
The Feet of the Perfect Guru dwell in my mind.
ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗੀ ਲਿਵ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਰਸੁ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
sahaj samaadh lagee liv a(n)tar so ras soiee jaanai jeeau ||1||
I am intuitively absorbed in the state of Samaadhi deep within. God alone knows this sweet pleasure. ||1||
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
agam agochar saahib meraa ||
My Lord and Master is Inaccessible and Unfathomable.
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਨੇਰਾ ॥
ghaT ghaT a(n)tar varatai neraa ||
Deep within each and every heart, He dwells near and close at hand.
ਸਦਾ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
sadhaa alipat jeeaa kaa dhaataa ko viralaa aap pachhaanai jeeau ||2||
He is always detached; He is the Giver of souls. How rare is that person who understands his own self. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਣੈ ਕੀ ਏਹ ਨੀਸਾਣੀ ॥
prabh milanai kee eh neesaanee ||
This is the sign of union with God:
ਮਨਿ ਇਕੋ ਸਚਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੀ ॥
man iko sachaa hukam pachhaanee ||
in the mind, the Command of the True Lord is recognized.
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੰਤੋਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਅਨਦੁ ਖਸਮ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
sahaj sa(n)tokh sadhaa tirapataase anadh khasam kai bhaanai jeeau ||3||
Intuitive peace and poise, contentment, enduring satisfaction and bliss come through the Pleasure of the Master's Will. ||3||
ਹਥੀ ਦਿਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੈ ॥
hathee dhitee prabh dhevanahaarai ||
God, the Great Giver, has given me His Hand.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਰੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
janam maran rog sabh nivaare ||
He has erased all the sickness of birth and death.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਕੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੫॥੪੨॥
naanak dhaas ke'ee prabh apune har keeratan ra(n)g maane jeeau ||4||35||42||
O Nanak, those whom God has made His slaves, rejoice in the pleasure of singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises. ||4||35||42||
