ਸਗਲ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sagal padhaarath simaran jaa kai aaTh pahar mere man jaap ||1|| rahaau ||
All wealth and treasures are obtained by remembering Him in meditation; twenty-four hours a day, O my mind, meditate on Him. ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋ ਪੀਵੈ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸ ॥
a(n)mirat naam suaamee teraa jo peevai tis hee tirapataas ||
Your Name is Ambrosial Nectar, O my Lord and Master. Whoever drinks it in is satisfied.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਆਗੈ ਦਰਗਹ ਹੋਇ ਖਲਾਸ ॥੧॥
janam janam ke kilabikh naaseh aagai dharageh hoi khalaas ||1||
The sins of countless incarnations are erased, and hereafter, he shall be saved and redeemed in the Court of the Lord. ||1||
ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਆਇਓ ਕਰਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ ॥
saran tumaaree aaio karate paarabraham pooran abinaas ||
I have come to Your Sanctuary, O Creator, O Perfect Supreme Eternal Lord God.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਧਿਆਵਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੯॥
kar kirapaa tere charan dhiaavau naanak man tan dharas piaas ||2||5||19||
Please be kind to me, that I may meditate on Your Lotus Feet. O Nanak, my mind and body thirst for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||2||5||19||

Saarang, Fifth Mehla, Third House:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਮਨ ਕਹਾ ਲੁਭਾਈਐ ਆਨ ਕਉ ॥
man kahaa lubhaieeaai aan kau ||
O my mind, why are you lured away by otherness?
ਈਤ ਊਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਜੀਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਾਮ ਕਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
e'eet uoot prabh sadhaa sahaiee jeea sa(n)g tere kaam kau ||1|| rahaau ||
Here and hereafter, God is forever your Help and Support. He is your soul-mate; He will help you succeed. ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨੋਹਰ ਇਹੈ ਅਘਾਵਨ ਪਾਂਨ ਕਉ ॥
a(n)mirat naam pria preet manohar ihai aghaavan paa(n)n kau ||
The Name of your Beloved Lover, the Fascinating Lord, is Ambrosial Nectar. Drinking it in, you shall find satisfaction.
ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਹੈ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਠਾਹਰ ਨੀਕੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਉ ॥੧॥
akaal moorat hai saadh sa(n)tan kee Thaahar neekee dhiaan kau ||1||
The Being of Immortal Manifestation is found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Meditate on Him in that most sublime place. ||1||
ਬਾਣੀ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖਨ ਕੀ ਮਨਹਿ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਮਾਂਨ ਕਉ ॥
baanee ma(n)tr mahaa purakhan kee maneh utaaran maa(n)n kau ||
The Bani, the Word of the Supreme Lord God, is the greatest Mantra of all. It eradicates pride from the mind.
ਖੋਜਿ ਲਹਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨਾਂ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ਕਉ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੦॥
khoj lahio naanak sukh thaanaa(n) har naamaa bisraam kau ||2||1||20||
Searching, Nanak found the home of peace and bliss in the Name of the Lord. ||2||1||20||

Saarang, Fifth Mehla:
ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗਾਇ ॥
man sadhaa ma(n)gal gobi(n)dh gai ||
O my mind, sing forever the Songs of Joy of the Lord of the Universe.
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਅਘ ਨਿਮਖ ਹੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rog sog tere miTeh sagal agh nimakh heeaai har naam dhiaai ||1|| rahaau ||
All your disease, sorrow and sin will be erased, if you meditate on the Lord's Name, even for an instant. ||1||Pause||
ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਬਹੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਣੀ ਜਾਇ ਪਾਇ ॥
chhodd siaanap bahu chaturaiee saadhoo saranee jai pai ||
Abandon all your clever tricks; go and enter the Sanctuary of the Holy.
ਜਉ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ॥੧॥
jau hoi kirapaal dheen dhukh bha(n)jan jam te hovai dharam rai ||1||
When the Lord, the Destroyer of the pains of the poor becomes merciful, the Messenger of Death is changed into the Righteous Judge of Dharma. ||1||
ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ਆਨ ਨ ਬੀਓ ਲਵੈ ਲਾਇ ॥
ekas bin naahee ko dhoojaa aan na beeo lavai lai ||
Without the One Lord, there is no other at all. No one else can equal Him.
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸਾਇ ॥੨॥੨॥੨੧॥
maat pitaa bhaiee naanak ko sukhadhaataa har praan sai ||2||2||21||
The Lord is Nanak's Mother, Father and Sibling, the Giver of Peace, his Breath of Life. ||2||2||21||
ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Saarang, Fifth Mehla:
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਸੰਗ ਕੇ ॥
har jan sagal udhaare sa(n)g ke ||
The Lord's humble servant saves those who accompany him.
ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhe puneet pavitr man janam janam ke dhukh hare ||1|| rahaau ||
Their minds are sanctified and rendered pure, and they are rid of the pains of countless incarnations. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲੇ ਤਿਨੑੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨੑ ਸਿਉ ਗੋਸਟਿ ਸੇ ਤਰੇ ॥
maarag chale tin(h)ee sukh paiaa jin(h) siau gosaT se tare ||
Those who walk on the path find peace; they are saved, along with those who speak with them.
ਬੂਡਤ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੇ ॥੧॥
booddat ghor a(n)dh koop meh te saadhoo sa(n)g paar pare ||1||
Even those who are drowning in the horrible, deep dark pit are carried across in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||
ਜਿਨੑ ਕੇ ਭਾਗ ਬਡੇ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਨੑ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੁਖ ਜੁਰੇ ॥
jin(h) ke bhaag badde hai bhaiee tin(h) saadhoo sa(n)g mukh jure ||
Those who have such high destiny turn their faces toward the Saadh Sangat.
ਤਿਨੑ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਨਿਤ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ॥੨॥੩॥੨੨॥
tin(h) kee dhoor baa(n)chhai nit naanak prabh meraa kirapaa kare ||2||3||22||
Nanak longs for the dust of their feet; O God, please shower Your Mercy on me! ||2||3||22||
ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਧਿਆਂਏ ॥
har jan raam raam raam dhiaa(n)e ||
The humble servant of the Lord meditates on the Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam.
ਏਕ ਪਲਕ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਧ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕੋਟਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠਹ ਪਾਂਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ek palak sukh saadh samaagam koT baiku(n)Theh paa(n)e ||1|| rahaau ||
One who enjoys peace in the Company of the Holy, even for an instant, obtains millions of heavenly paradises. ||1||Pause||
ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਜਪਿ ਹੋਤ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ॥
dhulabh dheh jap hot puneetaa jam kee traas nivaarai ||
This human body, so difficult to obtain, is sanctified by meditating on the Lord. It takes away the fear of death.
ਮਹਾ ਪਤਿਤ ਕੇ ਪਾਤਿਕ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
mahaa patit ke paatik utareh har naamaa ur dhaarai ||1||
Even the sins of terrible sinners are washed away, by cherishing the Lord's Name within the heart. ||1||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸੁਨੈ ਰਾਮ ਜਸੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਸਾ ॥
jo jo sunai raam jas niramal taa kaa janam maran dhukh naasaa ||
Whoever listens to the Immaculate Praises of the Lord - his pains of birth and death are dispelled.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗਂੀ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਗਾਸਾ ॥੨॥੪॥੨੩॥
kahu naanak paieeaai vaddabhaaga(n)ee man tan hoi bigaasaa ||2||4||23||
Says Nanak, the Lord is found by great good fortune, and then the mind and body blossom forth. ||2||4||23||
