ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੇ ਮਗਨ ਭਏ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੫॥੪੮॥
kahu naanak mil sa(n)tasa(n)gat te magan bhe liv laiee ||2||25||48||
Says Nanak, joining the Society of the Saints, I am enraptured, lovingly attuned to my Lord. ||2||25||48||

Saarang, Fifth Mehla:
ਅਪਨਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
apanaa meet suaamee gaieeaai ||
Sing of your Lord and Master, your Best Friend.
ਆਸ ਨ ਅਵਰ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੀ ਕੀਜੈ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aas na avar kaahoo kee keejai sukhadhaataa prabh dhiaaieeaai ||1|| rahaau ||
Do not place your hopes in anyone else; meditate on God, the Giver of peace. ||1||Pause||
ਸੂਖ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਘਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
sookh ma(n)gal kaliaan jiseh ghar tis hee saranee paieeaai ||
Peace, joy and salvation are in His Home. Seek the Protection of His Sanctuary.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਜੇ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਤਉ ਲਾਜ ਲੋਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
tiseh tiaag maanukh je sevahu tau laaj lon hoi jaieeaai ||1||
But if you forsake Him, and serve mortal beings, your honor will dissolve like salt in water. ||1||
ਏਕ ਓਟ ਪਕਰੀ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
ek oT pakaree Thaakur kee gur mil mat budh paieeaai ||
I have grasped the Anchor and Support of my Lord and Master; meeting with the Guru, I have found wisdom and understanding.
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਚੁਕੀ ਮੁਹਤਾਈਐ ॥੨॥੨੬॥੪੯॥
gun nidhaan naanak prabh miliaa sagal chukee muhataieeaai ||2||26||49||
Nanak has met God, the Treasure of Excellence; all dependence on others is gone. ||2||26||49||

ਓਟ ਸਤਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਮੇਰੈ ॥
oT sataanee prabh jeeau merai ||
I have the Almighty Support of my Dear Lord God.
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਲਿਆਵਉ ਅਵਰ ਕਾਹੂ ਕਉ ਮਾਣਿ ਮਹਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dhirasaT na liaavau avar kaahoo kau maan mahat prabh terai ||1|| rahaau ||
I do not look up to anyone else. My honor and glory are Yours, O God. ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਓ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਘੇਰੈ ॥
a(n)geekaar keeo prabh apunai kaadd leeaa bikh gherai ||
God has taken my side; He has lifted me up and pulled me out of the whirlpool of corruption.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਜਾਇ ਪਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰੈ ॥੧॥
a(n)mirat naam aaukhadh mukh dheeno jai piaa gur pairai ||1||
He has poured the medicine of the Naam, the Ambrosial Name of the Lord, into my mouth; I have fallen at the Guru's Feet. ||1||
ਕਵਨ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਹਉ ਏਕ ਮੁਖ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕੇ ਦਾਤੇਰੈ ॥
kavan upamaa kahau ek mukh niragun ke dhaaterai ||
How can I praise You with only one mouth? You are generous, even to the unworthy.
ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਜਉ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੂਖ ਘਨੇਰੈ ॥੨॥੨੭॥੫੦॥
kaaT silak jau apunaa keeno naanak sookh ghanerai ||2||27||50||
You cut away the noose, and now You own me; Nanak is blessed with myriad joys. ||2||27||50||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
prabh simarat dhookh binaasee ||
Remembering God in meditation, pains are dispelled.
ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਜੀਅ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹੋਈ ਸਗਲ ਖਲਾਸੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhio kirapaal jeea sukhadhaataa hoiee sagal khalaasee ||1|| rahaau ||
When the Giver of peace to the soul becomes merciful, the mortal is totally redeemed. ||1||Pause||
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਸੂਝੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਹੁ ਕੋ ਕਿਸੁ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਸੀ ॥
avar na kouoo soojhai prabh bin kahu ko kis peh jaasee ||
I know of none other than God; tell me, who else should I approach?
ਜਿਉ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪਾਸੀ ॥੧॥
jiau jaanahu tiau raakhahu Thaakur sabh kichh tum hee paasee ||1||
As You know me, so do You keep me, O my Lord and Master.I have surrendered everything to You. ||1||
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਦ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
haath dhei raakhe prabh apune sadh jeevan abinaasee ||
God gave me His Hand and saved me; He has blessed me with eternal life.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ॥੨॥੨੮॥੫੧॥
kahu naanak man anadh bhiaa hai kaaTee jam kee faasee ||2||28||51||
Says Nanak, my mind is in ecstasy; the noose of death has been cut away from my neck. ||2||28||51||

ਮੇਰੋ ਮਨੁ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸਮੑਾਰੈ ॥
mero man jat kat tujheh sam(h)aarai ||
My mind contemplates You, O Lord, all the time.
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਪਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ham baarik dheen pitaa prabh mere jiau jaaneh tiau paarai ||1|| rahaau ||
I am Your meek and helpless child; You are God my Father. As You know me, You save me. ||1||Pause||
ਜਬ ਭੁਖੌ ਤਬ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਅਘਾਏ ਸੂਖ ਸਘਾਰੈ ॥
jab bhukhau tab bhojan maa(n)gai aghaae sookh saghaarai ||
When I am hungry, I ask for food; when I am full, I am totally at peace.
ਤਬ ਅਰੋਗ ਜਬ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਤੌ ਛੁਟਕਤ ਹੋਇ ਰਵਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
tab arog jab tum sa(n)g basatau chhuTakat hoi ravaarai ||1||
When I dwell with You, I am free of disease; if I become separated from You, I turn to dust. ||1||
ਕਵਨ ਬਸੇਰੋ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਥਾਪਿਉ ਥਾਪਨਹਾਰੈ ॥
kavan basero dhaas dhaasan ko thaapiau thaapanahaarai ||
What power does the slave of Your slave have, O Establisher and Disestablisher?
ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਤਬ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੨੯॥੫੨॥
naam na bisarai tab jeevan paieeaai binatee naanak ieh saarai ||2||29||52||
If I do not forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, then I die. Nanak offers this prayer. ||2||29||52||
ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Saarang, Fifth Mehla:
ਮਨ ਤੇ ਭੈ ਭਉ ਦੂਰਿ ਪਰਾਇਓ ॥
man te bhai bhau dhoor paraio ||
I have shaken off fear and dread from my mind.
ਲਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਲਾਡਿਲੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
laal dhiaal gulaal laaddile sahaj sahaj gun gaio ||1|| rahaau ||
With intuitive ease, peace and poise, I sing the Glorious Praises of my Kind, Sweet, Darling Beloved. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਾਤਿ ਕਮਾਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਧਾਇਓ ॥
gur bachanaat kamaat kirapaa te bahur na katahoo dhaio ||
Practicing the Guru's Word, by His Grace, I do not wander anywhere anymore.
ਰਹਤ ਉਪਾਧਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸੁਖ ਆਸਨ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
rahat upaadh samaadh sukh aasan bhagat vachhal gireh paio ||1||
The illusion has been dispelled; I am in Samaadhi, Sukh-aasan, the position of peace. I have found the Lord, the Lover of His devotees, within the home of my own heart. ||1||
ਨਾਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕੋਡ ਆਨੰਦਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਓ ॥
naadh binodh kodd aana(n)dhaa sahaje sahaj samaio ||
| The Sound-current of the Naad, playful joys and pleasures - I am intuitively, easily absorbed into the Celestial Lord.
ਕਰਨਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਆਪੇ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੩੦॥੫੩॥
karanaa aap karaavan aape kahu naanak aap aapaio ||2||30||53||
He Himself is the Creator, the Cause of causes. Says Nanak, He Himself is All-in-all. ||2||30||53||
