ਛੋਡਹੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਵੈਰਾ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
chhoddahu kapaT hoi niravairaa so prabh sa(n)g nihaare ||
Abandon your deception, and go beyond vengeance; see God who is always with you.
ਸਚੁ ਧਨੁ ਵਣਜਹੁ ਸਚੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਹੁ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਆਵਹੁ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
sach dhan vanajahu sach dhan sa(n)chahu kabahoo na aavahu haare ||1||
Deal only in this true wealth and gather in this true wealth, and you shall never suffer loss. ||1||
ਖਾਤ ਖਰਚਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਿਖੁਟਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਗਨਤ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ॥
khaat kharachat kichh nikhuTat naahee aganat bhare bha(n)ddaare ||
Eating and consuming it, it is never exhausted; God's treasures are overflowing.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਵਹੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥੨॥੫੭॥੮੦॥
kahu naanak sobhaa sa(n)g jaavahu paarabraham kai dhuaare ||2||57||80||
Says Nanak, you shall go home to the Court of the Supreme Lord God with honor and respect. ||2||57||80||

Saarang, Fifth Mehla:
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਵਨੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥
prabh jee moh kavan anaath bichaaraa ||
O Dear God, I am wretched and helpless!
ਕਵਨ ਮੂਲ ਤੇ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਕਰਿਆ ਇਹੁ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ਤੁਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kavan mool te maanukh kariaa ih parataap tuhaaraa ||1|| rahaau ||
From what source did you create humans? This is Your Glorious Grandeur. ||1||Pause||
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਸਰਬ ਕੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਕਹੇ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
jeea praan sarab ke dhaate gun kahe na jaeh apaaraa ||
You are the Giver of the soul and the breath of life to all; Your Infinite Glories cannot be spoken.
ਸਭ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕ ਸਰਬ ਘਟਾਂ ਆਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
sabh ke preetam srab pratipaalak sarab ghaTaa(n) aadhaaraa ||1||
You are the Beloved Lord of all, the Cherisher of all, the Support of all hearts. ||1||
ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਆਪਹਿ ਏਕ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
koi na jaanai tumaree gat mit aapeh ek pasaaraa ||
No one knows Your state and extent. You alone created the expanse of the Universe.
ਸਾਧ ਨਾਵ ਬੈਠਾਵਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੫੮॥੮੧॥
saadh naav baiThaavahu naanak bhav saagar paar utaaraa ||2||58||81||
Please, give me a seat in the boat of the Holy; O Nanak, thus I shall cross over this terrifying world-ocean, and reach the other shore. ||2||58||81||
ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Saarang, Fifth Mehla:
ਆਵੈ ਰਾਮ ਸਰਣਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
aavai raam saran vaddabhaagee ||
One who comes to the Lord's Sanctuary is very fortunate.
ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਵਰਿ ਉਪਾਵ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ekas bin kichh hor na jaanai avar upaav tiaagee ||1|| rahaau ||
He knows of no other than the One Lord. He has renounced all other efforts. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਆਰਾਧੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
man bach karam aaraadhai har har saadhasa(n)g sukh paiaa ||
He worships and adores the Lord, Har, Har, in thought, word and deed; in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he finds peace.
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਰਸੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
anadh binodh akath kathaa ras saachai sahaj samaiaa ||1||
He enjoys bliss and pleasure, and savors the Unspoken Speech of the Lord; he merges intuitively into the True Lord. ||1||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜੋ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
kar kirapaa jo apunaa keeno taa kee uootam baanee ||
Sublime and exalted is the speech of one whom the Lord, in His Mercy makes His Own.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਸਤਰੀਐ ਜੋ ਰਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੨॥੫੯॥੮੨॥
saadhasa(n)g naanak nisatareeaai jo raate prabh nirabaanee ||2||59||82||
Those who are imbued with God in the state of Nirvaanaa, O Nanak, are emancipated in the Saadh Sangat. ||2||59||82||
ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Saarang, Fifth Mehla:
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੀ ॥
jaa te saadhoo saran gahee ||
Since I grasped hold of the Sanctuary of the Holy,
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਰਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saa(n)t sahaj man bhio pragaasaa birathaa kachh na rahee ||1|| rahaau ||
my mind is illuminated with tranquility, peace and poise, and I am rid of all my pain. ||1||Pause||
ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਏਹ ਕਹੀ ॥
hoh kirapaal naam dheh apunaa binatee eh kahee ||
Please be merciful to me, O Lord, and bless me with Your Name; this is the prayer I offer to You.
ਆਨ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ਬਿਸਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਾਇਓ ਲਾਭੁ ਸਹੀ ॥੧॥
aan biauhaar bisare prabh simarat paio laabh sahee ||1||
I have forgotten my other occupations; remembering God in meditation, I have obtained the true profit. ||1||
ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਤਹੀ ਸਮਾਨੋ ਸਾਈ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਹੀ ॥
jeh te upajio tahee samaano saiee basat ahee ||
We shall merge again into the One from whom we came; He is the Essence of Being.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਇਓ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਹੀ ॥੨॥੬੦॥੮੩॥
kahu naanak bharam gur khoio jotee jot samahee ||2||60||83||
Says Nanak, the Guru has eradicated my doubt; my light has merged into the Light. ||2||60||83||
ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
saarag mahalaa panjavaa ||
Saarang, Fifth Mehla:
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਉ ॥
rasanaa raam ko jas gaau ||
O my tongue, sing the Praises of the Lord.
ਆਨ ਸੁਆਦ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਭਲੋ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aan suaadh bisaar sagale bhalo naam suaau ||1|| rahaau ||
Abandon all other tastes and flavors; the taste of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is so sublime. ||1||Pause||
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਬਸਾਇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਉ ॥
charan kamal basai hiradhai ek siau liv laau ||
Enshrine the Lord's Lotus Feet within your heart; let yourself be lovingly attuned to the One Lord.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਆਉ ॥੧॥
saadhasa(n)gat hoh niramal bahuR jon na aau ||1||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall become immaculate and pure; you shall not come to be reincarnated again. ||1||
ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥
jeeau praan adhaar teraa too nithaave thaau ||
You are the Support of the soul and the breath of life; You are the Home of the homeless.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮੑਾਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੨॥੬੧॥੮੪॥
saas saas sam(h)aal har har naanak sadh bal jaau ||2||61||84||
With each and every breath, I dwell on the Lord, Har, Har; O Nanak, I am forever a sacrifice to Him. ||2||61||84||

Saarang, Fifth Mehla:
ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਚਰਨ ਨਿਤ ਧਿਆਉ ॥
baiku(n)Th gobi(n)dh charan nit dhiaau ||
To meditate on the Lotus Feet of the Lord of the Universe is heaven for me.
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mukat padhaarath saadhoo sa(n)gat a(n)mrit har kaa naau ||1|| rahaau ||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, is the treasure of liberation and the Lord's Ambrosial Name. ||1||Pause||
ਊਤਮ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣੀਜੈ ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਮਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥
uootam kathaa suneejai sravanee miaa karahu bhagavaan ||
O Lord God, please be kind to me, that I may hear with my ears Your Sublime and Exalted Sermon.
ਆਵਤ ਜਾਤ ਦੋਊ ਪਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਸੁਖ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
aavat jaat dhouoo pakh pooran paieeaai sukh bisraam ||1||
My cycle of coming and going is finally completed, and I have attained peace and tranquility. ||1||
