ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਗਦੀਸੁਰ ਪੇਖਤ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰੇ ॥
man tan rav rahiaa jagadheesur pekhat sadhaa hajoore ||
The Lord of the Universe is permeating and pervading my mind and body; I see Him Ever-present, here and now
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨॥
naanak rav rahio sabh a(n)tar sarab rahiaa bharapoore ||2||8||12||
. O Nanak, He is permeating the inner being of all; He is all-pervading everywhere. ||2||8||12||

Malaar, Fifth Mehla:
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਜਨਿ ਕਉਨ ਕਉਨ ਨ ਤਾਰੇ ॥
har kai bhajan kaun kaun na taare ||
Vibrating and meditating on the Lord, who has not been carried across?
ਖਗ ਤਨ ਮੀਨ ਤਨ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤਨ ਬਰਾਹ ਤਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
khag tan meen tan mirag tan baraeh tan saadhoo sa(n)g udhaare ||1|| rahaau ||
Those reborn into the body of a bird, the body of a fish, the body of a deer, and the body of a bull - in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, they are saved. ||1||Pause||
ਦੇਵ ਕੁਲ ਦੈਤ ਕੁਲ ਜਖੵ ਕਿੰਨਰ ਨਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਰੇ ॥
dhev kul dhait kul jakhaye ki(n)nar nar saagar utare paare ||
The families of gods, the families of demons, titans, celestial singers and human beings are carried across the ocean.
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਭਜਨੁ ਕਰੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
jo jo bhajan karai saadhoo sa(n)g taa ke dhookh bidhaare ||1||
Whoever meditates and vibrates on the Lord in the Saadh Sangat - his pains are taken away. ||1||
ਕਾਮ ਕਰੋਧ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਸ ਇਨ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਨਿਰਾਰੇ ॥
kaam karodh mahaa bikhiaa ras in te bhe niraare ||
Sexual desire, anger and the pleasures of terrible corruption - he keeps away from these.
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਜਪਹਿ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੇ ॥੨॥੯॥੧੩॥
dheen dhiaal japeh karunaa mai naanak sadh balihaare ||2||9||13||
He meditates on the Lord, Merciful to the meek, the Embodiment of Compassion; Nanak is forever a sacrifice to Him. ||2||9||13||

Malaar, Fifth Mehla:
ਆਜੁ ਮੈ ਬੈਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਹਾਟ ॥
aaj mai baisio har haaT ||
Today, I am seated in the Lord's store.
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਸਾਝੀ ਕਰਿ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਜਾਂਉ ਨ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਘਾਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam raas saajhee kar jan siau jaa(n)au na jam kai ghaaT ||1|| rahaau ||
With the wealth of the Lord, I have entered into partnership with the humble; I shall not have take the Highway of Death. ||1||Pause||
ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੇ ਖੁਲੇੑ ਕਪਾਟ ॥
dhaar anugrahu paarabraham raakhe bhram ke khule(h) kapaaT ||
Showering me with His Kindness, the Supreme Lord God has saved me; the doors of doubt have been opened wide.
ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰ ਸਾਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਹਾ ਚਰਨ ਨਿਧਿ ਖਾਟ ॥੧॥
besumaar saahu prabh paiaa laahaa charan nidh khaaT ||1||
I have found God, the Banker of Infinity; I have earned the profit of the wealth of His Feet. ||1||
ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਢੇ ਹੈ ਛਾਂਟਿ ॥
saran gahee achut abinaasee kilabikh kaadde hai chhaa(n)T ||
I have grasped the protection of the Sanctuary of the Unchanging, Unmoving, Imperishable Lord; He has picked up my sins and thrown them out.
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਜੋਨੀ ਮਾਟ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੧੪॥
kal kales miTe dhaas naanak bahur na jonee maaT ||2||10||14||
Slave Nanak's sorrow and suffering has ended. He shall never again be squeezed into the mold of reincarnation. ||2||10||14||

ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਹਿਰਾਨੋ ॥
bahu bidh maiaa moh hiraano ||
In so many ways, attachment to Maya leads to ruin.
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕੋਊ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਗਤੁ ਚਿਰਾਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
koT madhe kouoo biralaa sevak pooran bhagat chiraano ||1|| rahaau ||
Among millions, it is very rare to find a selfless servant who remains a perfect devotee for very long. ||1||Pause||
ਇਤ ਉਤ ਡੋਲਿ ਡੋਲਿ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹੋਤ ਬਿਰਾਨੋ ॥
eit ut ddol ddol sram paio tan dhan hot biraano ||
Roaming and wandering here and there, the mortal finds only trouble; his body and wealth become strangers to himself.
ਲੋਗ ਦੁਰਾਇ ਕਰਤ ਠਗਿਆਈ ਹੋਤੌ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੋ ॥੧॥
log dhurai karat Thagiaaiee hotau sa(n)g na jaano ||1||
Hiding from people, he practices deception; he does not know the One who is always with him. ||1||
ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਪੰਖੀ ਮੀਨ ਦੀਨ ਨੀਚ ਇਹ ਸੰਕਟ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਨੋ ॥
mirag pa(n)khee meen dheen neech ieh sa(n)kaT fir aano ||
He wanders through troubled incarnations of low and wretched species as a deer, a bird and a fish.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਾਰਹੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਨੋ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੧੫॥
kahu naanak paahan prabh taarahu saadhasa(n)gat sukh maano ||2||11||15||
Says Nanak, O God, I am a stone - please carry me across, that I may enjoy peace in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||11||15||
ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Malaar, Fifth Mehla:
ਦੁਸਟ ਮੁਏ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਈ ਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥
dhusaT mue bikh khaiee ree maiee ||
The cruel and evil ones died after taking poison, O mother.
ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਜੀਅ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਰਖਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jis ke jeea tin hee rakh leene mere prabh kau kirapaa aaiee ||1|| rahaau ||
And the One, to whom all creatures belong, has saved us. God has granted His Grace. ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਤਾਂ ਭਉ ਕੈਸਾ ਭਾਈ ॥
a(n)tarajaamee sabh meh varatai taa(n) bhau kaisaa bhaiee ||
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is contained within all; why should I be afraid, O Siblings of Destiny?
ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੀਸੈ ਸਭਨੀ ਠਾੲਂੀ ॥੧॥
sa(n)g sahaiee chhodd na jaiee prabh dheesai sabhanee Thaae(n)ee ||1||
God, my Help and Support, is always with me. He shall never leave; I see Him everywhere. ||1||
ਅਨਾਥਾ ਨਾਥੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਆਪਿ ਲੀਏ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਈ ॥
anaathaa naath dheen dhukh bha(n)jan aap le'ee laR laiee ||
He is the Master of the masterless, the Destroyer of the pains of the poor; He has attached me to the hem of His robe.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੧੬॥
har kee oT jeeveh dhaas tere naanak prabh saranaiee ||2||12||16||
O Lord, Your slaves live by Your Support; Nanak has come to the Sanctuary of God. ||2||12||16||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਰਵੀਜੈ ॥
man mere har ke charan raveejai ||
O my mind, dwell on the Feet of the Lord.
ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਮੇਰੋ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਪੰਖ ਲਗਾਇ ਮਿਲੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dharas piaas mero man mohio har pa(n)kh lagai mileejai ||1|| rahaau ||
My mind is enticed by thirst for the Blessed Vision of the Lord; I would take wings and fly out to meet Him. ||1||Pause||
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥
khojat khojat maarag paio saadhoo sev kareejai ||
Searching and seeking, I have found the Path, and now I serve the Holy.
ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੧॥
dhaar anugrahu suaamee mere naam mahaa ras peejai ||1||
O my Lord and Master, please be kind to me, that I may drink in Your most sublime essence. ||1||
ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਏ ਜਲਤਉ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
traeh traeh kar saranee aae jalatau kirapaa keejai ||
Begging and pleading, I have come to Your Sanctuary; I am on fire - please shower me with Your Mercy!
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਪੁਨੋ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੧੭॥
kar geh leh dhaas apune kau naanak apuno keejai ||2||13||17||
Please give me Your Hand - I am Your slave, O Lord. Please make Nanak Your Own. ||2||13||17||
