ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਇਆ ਕਰੇਹੀ ॥੨॥
jaa kau satigur miaa karehee ||2||
when the True Guru shows His Kindness. ||2||
ਅਗਿਆਨ ਭਰਮੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੁਖ ਡੇਰਾ ॥
agiaan bharam binasai dhukh dderaa ||
The house of ignorance, doubt and pain is destroyed,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰਾ ॥੩॥
jaa kai hiradhai baseh gur pairaa ||3||
for those within whose hearts the Guru's Feet abide. ||3||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
saadhasa(n)g ra(n)g prabh dhiaaiaa ||
In the Saadh Sangat, lovingly meditate on God.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥
kahu naanak tin pooraa paiaa ||4||4||
Says Nanak, you shall obtain the Perfect Lord. ||4||4||
ਕਾਨੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehla:
ਭਗਤਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਹੂੰ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
bhagat bhagatan hoo(n) ban aaiee ||
Devotion is the natural quality of God's devotees.
ਤਨ ਮਨ ਗਲਤ ਭਏ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਆਪਨ ਲੀਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tan man galat bhe Thaakur siau aapan le'ee milaiee ||1|| rahaau ||
Their bodies and minds are blended with their Lord and Master; He unites them with Himself. ||1||Pause||
ਗਾਵਨਹਾਰੀ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੀਤ ॥
gaavanahaaree gaavai geet ||
The singer sings the songs,
ਤੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਬਸੇ ਜਿਹ ਚੀਤ ॥੧॥
te udhare base jeh cheet ||1||
but she alone is saved, within whose consciousness the Lord abides. ||1||
ਪੇਖੇ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਪਰੋਸਨਹਾਰੈ ॥
pekhe bi(n)jan parosanahaarai ||
The one who sets the table sees the food,
ਜਿਹ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਰੈ ॥੨॥
jeh bhojan keeno te tirapataarai ||2||
but only one who eats the food is satisfied. ||2||
ਅਨਿਕ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਗ ਕਾਛੇ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ॥
anik savaiaa(n)g kaachhe bhekhadhaaree ||
People disguise themselves with all sorts of costumes,
ਜੈਸੋ ਸਾ ਤੈਸੋ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
jaiso saa taiso dhirasaTaaree ||3||
but in the end, they are seen as they truly are. ||3||
ਕਹਨ ਕਹਾਵਨ ਸਗਲ ਜੰਜਾਰ ॥
kahan kahaavan sagal ja(n)jaar ||
Speaking and talking are all just entanglements.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰ ॥੪॥੫॥
naanak dhaas sach karanee saar ||4||5||
O slave Nanak, the true way of life is excellent. ||4||5||

ਤੇਰੋ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨਤ ਉਮਾਹਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tero jan har jas sunat umaahio ||1|| rahaau ||
Your humble servant listens to Your Praises with delight. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਆਹਿਓ ॥੧॥
maneh pragaas pekh prabh kee sobhaa jat kat pekhau aahio ||1||
My mind is enlightened, gazing upon the Glory of God. Wherever I look, there He is. ||1||
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਪਰੈ ਪਰੈ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਥਾਹਿਓ ॥੨॥
sabh te parai parai te uoochaa gahir ga(n)bheer athaahio ||2||
You are the farthest of all, the highest of the far, profound, unfathomable and unreachable. ||2||
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਉ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਪਰਦਾ ਲਾਹਿਓ ॥੩॥
ot pot milio bhagatan kau jan siau paradhaa laahio ||3||
You are united with Your devotees, through and through; You have removed Your veil for Your humble servants. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸਮਾਹਿਓ ॥੪॥੬॥
gur prasaadh gaavai gun naanak sahaj samaadh samaahio ||4||6||
By Guru's Grace, Nanak sings Your Glorious Praises; he is intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi. ||4||6||
ਕਾਨੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehla:
ਸੰਤਨ ਪਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਆਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sa(n)tan peh aap udhaaran aaio ||1|| rahaau ||
I have come to the Saints to save myself. ||1||Pause||
ਦਰਸਨ ਭੇਟਤ ਹੋਤ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
dharasan bheTat hot puneetaa har har ma(n)tr dhiraRaio ||1||
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of their Darshan, I am sanctified; they have implanted the Mantra of the Lord, Har, Har, within me. ||1||
ਕਾਟੇ ਰੋਗ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਖਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
kaaTe rog bhe man niramal har har aaukhadh khaio ||2||
The disease has been eradicated, and my mind has become immaculate. I have taken the healing medicine of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2||
ਅਸਥਿਤ ਭਏ ਬਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨਾ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਧਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
asathit bhe base sukh thaanaa bahur na katahoo dhaio ||3||
I have become steady and stable, and I dwell in the home of peace. I shall never again wander anywhere. ||3||
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤਰੇ ਕੁਲ ਲੋਗਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਪਤ ਨ ਮਾਇਓ ॥੪॥੭॥
sa(n)t prasaadh tare kul logaa naanak lipat na maio ||4||7||
By the Grace of the Saints, the people and all their generations are saved; O Nanak, they are not engrossed in Maya. ||4||7||
ਕਾਨੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
kaanaRaa mahalaa panjavaa ||
Kaanraa, Fifth Mehla:
ਬਿਸਰਿ ਗਈ ਸਭ ਤਾਤਿ ਪਰਾਈ ॥
bisar giee sabh taat paraiee ||
I have totally forgotten my jealousy of others,
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jab te saadhasa(n)gat moh paiee ||1|| rahaau ||
since I found the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾ ਕੋ ਬੈਰੀ ਨਹੀ ਬਿਗਾਨਾ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥੧॥
naa ko bairee nahee bigaanaa sagal sa(n)g ham kau ban aaiee ||1||
No one is my enemy, and no one is a stranger. I get along with everyone. ||1||
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਨੋ ਸੋ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਏਹ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
jo prabh keeno so bhal maanio eh sumat saadhoo te paiee ||2||
Whatever God does, I accept that as good. This is the sublime wisdom I have obtained from the Holy. ||2||
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੈ ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਗਸਾਈ ॥੩॥੮॥
sabh meh rav rahiaa prabh ekai pekh pekh naanak bigasaiee ||3||8||
The One God is pervading in all. Gazing upon Him, beholding Him, Nanak blossoms forth in happiness. ||3||8||

ਠਾਕੁਰ ਜੀਉ ਤੁਹਾਰੋ ਪਰਨਾ ॥
Thaakur jeeau tuhaaro paranaa ||
O my Dear Lord and Master, You alone are my Support.
ਮਾਨੁ ਮਹਤੁ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੈ ਊਪਰਿ ਤੁਮੑਰੀ ਓਟ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
maan mahat tum(h)aarai uoopar tum(h)ree oT tum(h)aaree saranaa ||1|| rahaau ||
You are my Honor and Glory; I seek Your Support, and Your Sanctuary. ||1||Pause||
ਤੁਮੑਰੀ ਆਸ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਤੁਮੑਰਾ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਲੈ ਧਰਨਾ ॥
tum(h)ree aas bharosaa tum(h)raa tumaraa naam ridhai lai dharanaa ||
You are my Hope, and You are my Faith. I take Your Name and enshrine it within my heart.
ਤੁਮਰੋ ਬਲੁ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
tumaro bal tum sa(n)g suhele jo jo kahahu soiee soiee karanaa ||1||
You are my Power; associating with You, I am embellished and exalted. I do whatever You say. ||1||
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਉ ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਤ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰਨਾ ॥
tumaree dhiaa miaa sukh paavau hoh kirapaal ta bhaujal taranaa ||
Through Your Kindness and Compassion, I find peace; when You are Merciful, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean.
ਅਭੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਿਰੁ ਡਾਰਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨਾ ॥੨॥੯॥
abhai dhaan naam har paio sir ddaario naanak sa(n)t charanaa ||2||9||
Through the Name of the Lord, I obtain the gift of fearlessness; Nanak places his head on the feet of the Saints. ||2||9||
