ਹੈ ਕੋਊ ਐਸਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਜਿ ਤੋਰੈ ਬਿਖਮ ਗਾਂਠਿ ॥
hai kouoo aaisaa meet j torai bikham gaa(n)Th ||
Is there any such friend, who can untie this difficult knot?
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਕੁ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਨਾਥੁ ਜਿ ਟੂਟੇ ਲੇਇ ਸਾਂਠਿ ॥੧੫॥
naanak ik sreedhar naath j TooTe lei saa(n)Th ||15||
O Nanak, the One Supreme Lord and Master of the earth reunites the separated ones. ||15||
ਧਾਵਉ ਦਸਾ ਅਨੇਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾਰਣੇ ॥
dhaavau dhasaa anek prem prabh kaarane ||
I run around in all directions, searching for the love of God.
ਪੰਚ ਸਤਾਵਹਿ ਦੂਤ ਕਵਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਰਣੇ ॥
pa(n)ch sataaveh dhoot kavan bidh maarane ||
The five evil enemies are tormenting me; how can I destroy them?
ਤੀਖਣ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾਇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧੵਾਈਐ ॥
teekhan baan chalai naam prabh dhayeaieeaai ||
Shoot them with the sharp arrows of meditation on the Name of God.
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਹਾਂ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਘਾਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧੬॥
harihaa(n) mahaa(n) bikhaadhee ghaat pooran gur paieeaai ||16||
O Lord! The way to slaughter these terrible sadistic enemies is obtained from the Perfect Guru. ||16||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਨਿਖੁਟਈ ॥
satigur keenee dhaat mool na nikhuTiee ||
The True Guru has blessed me with the bounty which shall never be exhausted.
ਖਾਵਹੁ ਭੁੰਚਹੁ ਸਭਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਛੁਟਈ ॥
khaavahu bhu(n)chahu sabh gurmukh chhuTiee ||
Eating and consuming it, all the Gurmukhs are emancipated.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਦਿਤਾ ਤੁਸਿ ਹਰਿ ॥
a(n)mrit naam nidhaan dhitaa tus har ||
The Lord, in His Mercy, has blessed me with the treasure of the Ambrosial Naam.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਜਾਂਹਿ ਮਰਿ ॥੧੭॥
naanak sadhaa araadh kadhe na jaa(n)h mar ||17||
O Nanak, worship and adore the Lord, who never dies. ||17||
ਜਿਥੈ ਜਾਏ ਭਗਤੁ ਸੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਾ ॥
jithai jaae bhagatu su thaan suhaavanaa ||
Wherever the Lord's devotee goes is a blessed, beautiful place.
ਸਗਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੁਖ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਣਾ ॥
sagale hoe sukh har naam dhiaavanaa ||
All comforts are obtained, meditating on the Lord's Name.
ਜੀਅ ਕਰਨਿ ਜੈਕਾਰੁ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮੁਏ ਪਚਿ ॥
jeea karan jaikaar ni(n)dhak mue pach ||
People praise and congratulate the devotee of the Lord, while the slanderers rot and die.
ਸਾਜਨ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ॥੧੮॥
saajan man aana(n)dh naanak naam jap ||18||
Says Nanak, O friend, chant the Naam, and your mind shall be filled with bliss. ||18||
ਪਾਵਨ ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕਤਹ ਨਹੀ ਸੇਵੀਐ ॥
paavan patit puneet kateh nahee seveeaai ||
The mortal never serves the Immaculate Lord, the Purifier of sinners.
ਝੂਠੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਖੁਆਰੁ ਕਹਾਂ ਲਗੁ ਖੇਵੀਐ ॥
jhooThai ra(n)g khuaar kahaa(n) lag kheveeaai ||
The mortal wastes away in false pleasures. How long can this go on?
ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੀ ਪੇਖਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
haricha(n)dhauree pekh kaahe sukh maaniaa ||
Why do you take such pleasure, looking at this mirage?
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਜਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧੯॥
harihaa(n) hau balihaaree ti(n)n j dharageh jaaniaa ||19||
O Lord! I am a sacrifice to those who are known and approved in the Court of the Lord. ||19||
ਕੀਨੇ ਕਰਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਗਵਾਰ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਘਨ ॥
keene karam anek gavaar bikaar ghan ||
The fool commits countless foolish actions and so many sinful mistakes.
ਮਹਾ ਦ੍ਰੁਗੰਧਤ ਵਾਸੁ ਸਠ ਕਾ ਛਾਰੁ ਤਨ ॥
mahaa dhruga(n)dhat vaas saTh kaa chhaar tan ||
The fool's body smells rotten, and turns to dust.
ਫਿਰਤਉ ਗਰਬ ਗੁਬਾਰਿ ਮਰਣੁ ਨਹ ਜਾਨਈ ॥
firatau garab gubaar maran neh jaaniee ||
He wanders lost in the darkness of pride, and never thinks of dying.
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੀ ਪੇਖਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਸਚੁ ਮਾਨਈ ॥੨੦॥
harihaa(n) haricha(n)dhauree pekh kaahe sach maaniee ||20||
O Lord! The mortal gazes upon the mirage; why does he think it is true? ||20||
ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਪੂਜੈ ਅਉਧ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਉਣੁ ਰਾਖਈ ॥
jis kee poojai aaudh tisai kaun raakhiee ||
When someone's days are over, who can save him?
ਬੈਦਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਹਾਂ ਲਉ ਭਾਖਈ ॥
baidhak anik upaav kahaa(n) lau bhaakhiee ||
How long can the physicians go on, suggesting various therapies?
ਏਕੋ ਚੇਤਿ ਗਵਾਰ ਕਾਜਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਆਵਈ ॥
eko chet gavaar kaaj terai aaviee ||
You fool, remember the One Lord; only He shall be of use to you in the end.
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਤਨੁ ਛਾਰੁ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਸਭੁ ਜਾਵਈ ॥੨੧॥
harihaa(n) bin naavai tan chhaar birathaa sabh jaaviee ||21||
O Lord! Without the Name, the body turns to dust, and everything goes to waste. ||21||
ਅਉਖਧੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਅਮੋਲਕੁ ਪੀਜਈ ॥
aaukhadh naam apaar amolak peejiee ||
Drink in the medicine of the Incomparable, Priceless Name.
ਮਿਲਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਖਾਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਸਗਲ ਕਉ ਦੀਜਈ ॥
mil mil khaaveh sa(n)t sagal kau dheejiee ||
Meeting and joining together, the Saints drink it in, and give it to everyone.
ਜਿਸੈ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਸੈ ਹੀ ਪਾਵਣੇ ॥
jisai paraapat hoi tisai hee paavane ||
He alone is blessed with it, who is destined to receive it.
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿੰਨੑ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਰਾਵਣੇ ॥੨੨॥
harihaa(n) hau balihaaree ti(n)n(h) j har ra(n)g raavane ||22||
O Lord! I am a sacrifice to those who enjoy the Love of the Lord. ||22||
ਵੈਦਾ ਸੰਦਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਇਕਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ॥
vaidhaa sa(n)dhaa sa(n)g ikaThaa hoiaa ||
The physicians meet together in their assembly.
ਅਉਖਦ ਆਏ ਰਾਸਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਪਿ ਖਲੋਇਆ ॥
aaukhadh aae raas vich aap khaloiaa ||
The medicines are effective, when the Lord Himself stands in their midst.
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਓਨਾ ਕਰਮ ਸੁਕਰਮ ਹੋਇ ਪਸਰਿਆ ॥
jo jo onaa karam sukaram hoi pasariaa ||
Their good deeds and karma become apparent.
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਦੂਖ ਰੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਖਿਸਰਿਆ ॥੨੩॥
harihaa(n) dhookh rog sabh paap tan te khisariaa ||23||
O Lord! Pains, diseases and sins all vanish from their bodies. ||23||
ਚਉਬੋਲੇ ਮਹਲਾ ੫
chaubole mahalaa panjavaa
Chaubolas, Fifth Mehla:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਸੰਮਨ ਜਉ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀ ਦਮ ਕੵਿਹੁ ਹੋਤੀ ਸਾਟ ॥
sa(n)man jau is prem kee dham kiyeh hotee saaT ||
O Samman, if one could buy this love with money,
ਰਾਵਨ ਹੁਤੇ ਸੁ ਰੰਕ ਨਹਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰ ਦੀਨੇ ਕਾਟਿ ॥੧॥
raavan hute su ra(n)k neh jin sir dheene kaaT ||1||
then consider Raawan the king. He was not poor, but he could not buy it, even though he offered his head to Shiva. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤਨੁ ਖਚਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਬੀਚੁ ਨ ਰਾਈ ਹੋਤ ॥
preet prem tan khach rahiaa beech na raiee hot ||
My body is drenched in love and affection for the Lord; there is no distance at all between us.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਓ ਬੂਝਨੁ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥੨॥
charan kamal man bedhio boojhan surat sa(n)jog ||2||
My mind is pierced through by the Lotus Feet of the Lord. He is realized when one's intuitive consciousness is attuned to Him. ||2||
