Gauree, Kabeer Jee:
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
jaa kai har saa Thaakur bhaiee ||
One who has the Lord as his Master, O Siblings of Destiny
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਅਨੰਤ ਪੁਕਾਰਣਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
mukat ana(n)t pukaaran jaiee ||1||
- countless liberations knock at his door. ||1||
ਅਬ ਕਹੁ ਰਾਮ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਤੋਰਾ ॥
ab kahu raam bharosaa toraa ||
If I say now that my trust is in You alone, Lord,
ਤਬ ਕਾਹੂ ਕਾ ਕਵਨੁ ਨਿਹੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tab kaahoo kaa kavan nihoraa ||1|| rahaau ||
then what obligation do I have to anyone else? ||1||Pause||
ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਹਿ ਭਾਰ ॥
teen lok jaa kai heh bhaar ||
He bears the burden of the three worlds;
ਸੋ ਕਾਹੇ ਨ ਕਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰ ॥੨॥
so kaahe na karai pratipaar ||2||
why should He not cherish you also? ||2||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਇਕ ਬੁਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
kahu kabeer ik budh beechaaree ||
Says Kabeer, through contemplation, I have obtained this one understanding.
ਕਿਆ ਬਸੁ ਜਉ ਬਿਖੁ ਦੇ ਮਹਤਾਰੀ ॥੩॥੨੨॥
kiaa bas jau bikh dhe mahataaree ||3||22||
If the mother poisons her own child, what can anyone do? ||3||22||

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤ ਸਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਕੈਸੇ ਨਾਰਿ ॥
bin sat satee hoi kaise naar ||
Without Truth, how can the woman be a true satee - a widow who burns herself on her husband's funeral pyre?
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
pa(n)ddit dhekhahu ridhai beechaar ||1||
O Pandit, O religious scholar, see this and contemplate it within your heart. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਬਧੈ ਸਨੇਹੁ ॥
preet binaa kaise badhai saneh ||
Without love, how can one's affection increase?
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਰਸੁ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਨਹੀ ਨੇਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jab lag ras tab lag nahee neh ||1|| rahaau ||
As long as there is attachment to pleasure, there can be no spiritual love. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਹਨਿ ਸਤੁ ਕਰੈ ਜੀਅ ਅਪਨੈ ॥
saahan sat karai jeea apanai ||
One who, in his own soul, believes the Queen Maya to be true,
ਸੋ ਰਮਯੇ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਨ ਸੁਪਨੈ ॥੨॥
so ramaye kau milai na supanai ||2||
does not meet the Lord, even in dreams. ||2||
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਸਉਪਿ ਸਰੀਰੁ ॥
tan man dhan girahu saup sareer ||
One who surrenders her body, mind, wealth, home and self
ਸੋਈ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ॥੩॥੨੩॥
soiee suhaagan kahai kabeer ||3||23||
- she is the true soul-bride, says Kabeer. ||3||23||

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਆਪਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
bikhiaa biaapiaa sagal sa(n)saar ||
The whole world is engrossed in corruption.
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਡੂਬੀ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
bikhiaa lai ddoobee paravaar ||1||
This corruption has drowned entire families. ||1||
ਰੇ ਨਰ ਨਾਵ ਚਉੜਿ ਕਤ ਬੋੜੀ ॥
re nar naav chauR kat boRee ||
O man, why have you wrecked your boat and sunk it?
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਤੋੜਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋੜੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har siau toR bikhiaa sa(n)g joRee ||1|| rahaau ||
You have broken with the Lord, and joined hands with corruption. ||1||Pause||
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦਾਧੇ ਲਾਗੀ ਆਗਿ ॥
sur nar dhaadhe laagee aag ||
Angels and human beings alike are burning in the raging fire.
ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨੀਰੁ ਪਸੁ ਪੀਵਸਿ ਨ ਝਾਗਿ ॥੨॥
nikaT neer pas peevas na jhaag ||2||
The water is near at hand, but the beast does not drink it in. ||2||
ਚੇਤਤ ਚੇਤਤ ਨਿਕਸਿਓ ਨੀਰੁ ॥
chetat chetat nikasio neer ||
By constant contemplation and awareness, the water is brought forth.
ਸੋ ਜਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਕਥਤ ਕਬੀਰੁ ॥੩॥੨੪॥
so jal niramal kathat kabeer ||3||24||
That water is immaculate and pure, says Kabeer. ||3||24||

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:
ਜਿਹ ਕੁਲਿ ਪੂਤੁ ਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
jeh kul poot na giaan beechaaree ||
That family, whose son has no spiritual wisdom or contemplation
ਬਿਧਵਾ ਕਸ ਨ ਭਈ ਮਹਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
bidhavaa kas na bhiee mahataaree ||1||
- why didn't his mother just become a widow? ||1||
ਜਿਹ ਨਰ ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹਿ ਸਾਧੀ ॥
jeh nar raam bhagat neh saadhee ||
That man who has not practiced devotional worship of the Lord
ਜਨਮਤ ਕਸ ਨ ਮੁਓ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
janamat kas na muo aparaadhee ||1|| rahaau ||
- why didn't such a sinful man die at birth? ||1||Pause||
ਮੁਚੁ ਮੁਚੁ ਗਰਭ ਗਏ ਕੀਨ ਬਚਿਆ ॥
much much garabh ge keen bachiaa ||
So many pregnancies end in miscarriage - why was this one spared?
ਬੁਡਭੁਜ ਰੂਪ ਜੀਵੇ ਜਗ ਮਝਿਆ ॥੨॥
buddabhuj roop jeeve jag majhiaa ||2||
He lives his life in this world like a deformed amputee. ||2||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੈਸੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਰੂਪ ॥ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੈਸੇ ਕੁਬਜ ਕੁਰੂਪ ॥੩॥੨੫॥
kahu kabeer jaise su(n)dhar saroop || naam binaa jaise kubaj kuroop ||3||25||
Says Kabeer, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, beautiful and handsome people are just ugly hunch-backs. ||3||25||

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:
ਜੋ ਜਨ ਲੇਹਿ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥
jo jan leh khasam kaa naau || tin kai sadh balihaarai jaau ||1||
I am forever a sacrifice to those humble beings who take the Name of their Lord and Master. ||1||
ਸੋ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
so niramal niramal har gun gaavai ||
Those who sing the Glorious Praises of the Pure Lord are pure.
ਸੋ ਭਾਈ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
so bhaiee merai man bhaavai ||1|| rahaau ||
They are my Siblings of Destiny, so dear to my heart. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਹ ਘਟ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਪਗ ਪੰਕਜ ਹਮ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੨॥
jeh ghaT raam rahiaa bharapoor || tin kee pag pa(n)kaj ham dhoor ||2||
I am the dust of the lotus feet of those whose hearts are filled with the All-pervading Lord. ||2||
ਜਾਤਿ ਜੁਲਾਹਾ ਮਤਿ ਕਾ ਧੀਰੁ ॥
jaat julaahaa mat kaa dheer ||
I am a weaver by birth, and patient of mind.
ਸਹਜਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਮੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ॥੩॥੨੬॥
sahaj sahaj gun ramai kabeer ||3||26||
Slowly, steadily, Kabeer chants the Glories of God. ||3||26||

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:
ਗਗਨਿ ਰਸਾਲ ਚੁਐ ਮੇਰੀ ਭਾਠੀ ॥
gagan rasaal chuaai meree bhaaThee ||
From the Sky of the Tenth Gate, the nectar trickles down, distilled from my furnace.
ਸੰਚਿ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਤਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਕਾਠੀ ॥੧॥
sa(n)ch mahaa ras tan bhiaa kaaThee ||1||
I have gathered in this most sublime essence, making my body into firewood. ||1||
ਉਆ ਕਉ ਕਹੀਐ ਸਹਜ ਮਤਵਾਰਾ ॥
auaa kau kaheeaai sahaj matavaaraa ||
He alone is called intoxicated with intuitive peace and poise,
ਪੀਵਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਗਿਆਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
peevat raam ras giaan beechaaraa ||1|| rahaau ||
who drinks in the juice of the Lord's essence, contemplating spiritual wisdom. ||1||Pause||
ਸਹਜ ਕਲਾਲਨਿ ਜਉ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਈ ॥
sahaj kalaalan jau mil aaiee ||
Intuitive poise is the bar-maid who comes to serve it.
ਆਨੰਦਿ ਮਾਤੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
aana(n)dh maate anadhin jaiee ||2||
I pass my nights and days in ecstasy. ||2||
ਚੀਨਤ ਚੀਤੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
cheenat cheet nira(n)jan laiaa ||
Through conscious meditation, I linked my consciousness with the Immaculate Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੌ ਅਨਭਉ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥੨੭॥
kahu kabeer tau anabhau paiaa ||3||27||
Says Kabeer, then I obtained the Fearless Lord. ||3||27||

ਮਨ ਕਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਮਨਹਿ ਬਿਆਪੀ ॥

The natural tendency of the mind is to chase the mind.
