ਮੁੰਧੇ ਕੂੜਿ ਮੁਠੀ ਕੂੜਿਆਰਿ ॥
mu(n)dhe kooR muThee kooRiaar ||
O woman, the false ones are being cheated by falsehood.
ਪਿਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pir prabh saachaa sohanaa paieeaai gur beechaar ||1|| rahaau ||
God is your Husband; He is Handsome and True. He is obtained by reflecting upon the Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਈ ਤਿਨ ਕਿਉ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥
manmukh ka(n)t na pachhaaniee tin kiau rain vihai ||
The self-willed manmukhs do not recognize their Husband Lord; how will they spend their life-night?
ਗਰਬਿ ਅਟੀਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲਹਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥
garab aTeeaa tirasanaa jaleh dhukh paaveh dhoojai bhai ||
Filled with arrogance, they burn with desire; they suffer in the pain of the love of duality.
ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਤਿਨ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
sabadh rateeaa sohaaganee tin vichahu haumai jai ||
The happy soul-brides are attuned to the Shabad; their egotism is eliminated from within.
ਸਦਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਿਨਾ ਸੁਖੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥੨॥
sadhaa pir raaveh aapanaa tinaa sukhe sukh vihai ||2||
They enjoy their Husband Lord forever, and their life-night passes in the most blissful peace. ||2||
ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਹੂਣੀ ਪਿਰ ਮੁਤੀਆ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
giaan vihoonee pir muteeaa piram na paiaa jai ||
She is utterly lacking in spiritual wisdom; she is abandoned by her Husband Lord. She cannot obtain His Love.
ਅਗਿਆਨ ਮਤੀ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਹੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਰ ਦੇਖੇ ਭੁਖ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
agiaan matee a(n)dher hai bin pir dhekhe bhukh na jai ||
In the darkness of intellectual ignorance, she cannot see her Husband, and her hunger does not depart.
ਆਵਹੁ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
aavahu milahu saheleeho mai pir dheh milai ||
Come and meet with me, my sister soul-brides, and unite me with my Husband.
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
poorai bhaag satigur milai pir paiaa sach samai ||3||
She who meets the True Guru, by perfect good fortune, finds her Husband; she is absorbed in the True One. ||3||
ਸੇ ਸਹੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
se saheeaa sohaaganee jin kau nadhar karei ||
Those upon whom He casts His Glance of Grace become His happy soul-brides.
ਖਸਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਦੇਇ ॥
khasam pachhaaneh aapanaa tan man aagai dhei ||
One who recognizes her Lord and Master places her body and mind in offering before Him.
ਘਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
ghar var paiaa aapanaa haumai dhoor karei ||
Within her own home, she finds her Husband Lord; her egotism is dispelled.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੬੧॥
naanak sobhaava(n)teeaa sohaaganee anadhin bhagat karei ||4||28||61||
O Nanak, the happy soul-brides are embellished and exalted; night and day they are absorbed in devotional worship. ||4||28||61||
ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥
sireeraag mahalaa teejaa ||
Siree Raag, Third Mehla:
ਇਕਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਉ ਕੈ ਦਰਿ ਪੂਛਉ ਜਾਇ ॥
eik pir raaveh aapanaa hau kai dhar poochhau jai ||
Some enjoy their Husband Lord; unto whose door should I go to ask for Him?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
satigur sevee bhaau kar mai pir dheh milai ||
I serve my True Guru with love, that He may lead me to Union with my Husband Lord.
ਸਭੁ ਉਪਾਏ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਕਿਸੁ ਨੇੜੈ ਕਿਸੁ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
sabh upaae aape vekhai kis neRai kis dhoor ||
He created all, and He Himself watches over us. Some are close to Him, and some are far away.
ਜਿਨਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਸੰਗੇ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਸਦਾ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥੧॥
jin pir sa(n)ge jaaniaa pir raave sadhaa hadhoor ||1||
She who knows her Husband Lord to be always with her, enjoys His Constant Presence. ||1||
ਮੁੰਧੇ ਤੂ ਚਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ॥
mu(n)dhe too chal gur kai bhai ||
O woman, you must walk in harmony with the Guru's Will.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anadhin raaveh pir aapanaa sahaje sach samai ||1|| rahaau ||
Night and day, you shall enjoy your Husband, and you shall intuitively merge into the True One. ||1||Pause||
ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ॥
sabadh rateeaa sohaaganee sachai sabadh seegaar ||
Attuned to the Shabad, the happy soul-brides are adorned with the True Word of the Shabad.
ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
har var pain ghar aapanai gur kai het piaar ||
Within their own home, they obtain the Lord as their Husband, with love for the Guru.
ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਵੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
sej suhaavee har ra(n)g ravai bhagat bhare bha(n)ddaar ||
Upon her beautiful and cozy bed, she enjoys the Love of her Lord. She is overflowing with the treasure of devotion.
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਜਿ ਸਭਸੈ ਦੇਇ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
so prabh preetam man vasai j sabhasai dhei adhaar ||2||
That Beloved God abides in her mind; He gives His Support to all. ||2||
ਪਿਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਨਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥
pir saalaahan aapanaa tin kai hau sadh balihaarai jaau ||
I am forever a sacrifice to those who praise their Husband Lord.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪੀ ਸਿਰੁ ਦੇਈ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਇ ॥
man tan arapee sir dheiee tin kai laagaa pai ||
I dedicate my mind and body to them, and give my head as well; I fall at their feet.
ਜਿਨੀ ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਚੁਕਾਇ ॥
jinee ik pachhaaniaa dhoojaa bhaau chukai ||
Those who recognize the One renounce the love of duality.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥੨੯॥੬੨॥
gurmukh naam pachhaaneeaai naanak sach samai ||3||29||62||
The Gurmukh recognizes the Naam, O Nanak, and is absorbed into the True One. ||3||29||62||
ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥
sireeraag mahalaa teejaa ||
Siree Raag, Third Mehla:
ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਤੂ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰੈ ਚੀਰੈ ॥
har jee sachaa sach too sabh kichh terai cheerai ||
O Dear Lord, You are the Truest of the True. All things are in Your Power.
ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਤਰਸਦੇ ਫਿਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਪੀਰੈ ॥
lakh chauraaseeh tarasadhe fire bin gur bheTe peerai ||
The 8.4 million species of beings wander around searching for You, but without the Guru, they do not find You.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਬਖਸੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਸੂਖ ਸਦਾ ਸਰੀਰੈ ॥
har jeeau bakhase bakhas le sookh sadhaa sareerai ||
When the Dear Lord grants His Forgiveness, this human body finds lasting peace.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੈ ॥੧॥
gur parasaadhee sev karee sach gahir ga(n)bheerai ||1||
By Guru's Grace, I serve the True One, who is Immeasurably Deep and Profound. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
man mere naam rate sukh hoi ||
O my mind, attuned to the Naam, you shall find peace.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gurmatee naam salaaheeaai dhoojaa avar na koi ||1|| rahaau ||
Follow the Guru's Teachings, and praise the Naam; there is no other at all. ||1||Pause||
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਨੋ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਹੈ ਬਹਿ ਸਚਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
dharam rai no hukam hai beh sachaa dharam beechaar ||
The Righteous Judge of Dharma, by the Hukam of God's Command, sits and administers True Justice.
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਸਟੁ ਆਤਮਾ ਓਹੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ॥
dhoojai bhai dhusaT aatamaa oh teree sarakaar ||
Those evil souls, ensnared by the love of duality, are subject to Your Command.
ਅਧਿਆਤਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਤਾਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਜਪਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥
adhiaatamee har gun taas man japeh ek muraar ||
The souls on their spiritual journey chant and meditate within their minds on the One Lord, the Treasure of Excellence.
