ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਮਸਕਤੇ ਤੂਠੈ ਪਾਵਾ ਦੇਵ ॥
saadhoo sa(n)g masakate tooThai paavaa dhev ||
The opportunity to work hard serving the Saadh Sangat is obtained, when the Divine Lord is pleased.
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਸਾਹਿਬੈ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਣ ਕਰੇਵ ॥
sabh kichh vasagat saahibai aape karan karev ||
Everything is in the Hands of our Lord and Master; He Himself is the Doer of deeds.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਮਨਸਾ ਸਭ ਪੂਰੇਵ ॥੩॥
satigur kai balihaaranai manasaa sabh poorev ||3||
I am a sacrifice to the True Guru, who fulfills all hopes and desires. ||3||
ਇਕੋ ਦਿਸੈ ਸਜਣੋ ਇਕੋ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤੁ ॥
eiko dhisai sajano iko bhaiee meet ||
The One appears to be my Companion; the One is my Brother and Friend.
ਇਕਸੈ ਦੀ ਸਾਮਗਰੀ ਇਕਸੈ ਦੀ ਹੈ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
eikasai dhee saamagaree ikasai dhee hai reet ||
The elements and the components are all made by the One; they are held in their order by the One.
ਇਕਸ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਤਾ ਹੋਆ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਚੀਤੁ ॥
eikas siau man maaniaa taa hoaa nihachal cheet ||
When the mind accepts, and is satisfied with the One, then the consciousness becomes steady and stable.
ਸਚੁ ਖਾਣਾ ਸਚੁ ਪੈਨਣਾ ਟੇਕ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਕੀਤੁ ॥੪॥੫॥੭੫॥
sach khaanaa sach painanaa Tek naanak sach keet ||4||5||75||
Then, one's food is the True Name, one's garments are the True Name, and one's Support, O Nanak, is the True Name. ||4||5||75||
ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
sireeraag mahalaa panjavaa ||
Siree Raag, Fifth Mehla:
ਸਭੇ ਥੋਕ ਪਰਾਪਤੇ ਜੇ ਆਵੈ ਇਕੁ ਹਥਿ ॥
sabhe thok paraapate je aavai ik hath ||
All things are received if the One is obtained.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਥਿ ॥
janam padhaarath safal hai je sachaa sabadh kath ||
The precious gift of this human life becomes fruitful when one chants the True Word of the Shabad.
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਰਾਪਤੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਵੈ ਮਥਿ ॥੧॥
gur te mahal paraapate jis likhiaa hovai math ||1||
One who has such destiny written on his forehead enters the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, through the Guru. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਏਕਸ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
mere man ekas siau chit lai ||
O my mind, focus your consciousness on the One.
ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਭ ਧੰਧੁ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ekas bin sabh dha(n)dh hai sabh mithiaa moh mai ||1|| rahaau ||
Without the One, all entanglements are worthless; emotional attachment to Maya is totally false. ||1||Pause||
ਲਖ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀਆ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
lakh khuseeaa paatisaaheeaa je satigur nadhar karei ||
Hundreds of thousands of princely pleasures are enjoyed, if the True Guru bestows His Glance of Grace.
ਨਿਮਖ ਏਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
nimakh ek har naam dhei meraa man tan seetal hoi ||
If He bestows the Name of the Lord, for even a moment, my mind and body are cooled and soothed.
ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੇ ॥੨॥
jis kau poorab likhiaa tin satigur charan gahe ||2||
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny hold tight to the Feet of the True Guru. ||2||
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤੁ ਸਫਲਾ ਘੜੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
safal moorat safalaa ghaRee jit sache naal piaar ||
Fruitful is that moment, and fruitful is that time, when one is in love with the True Lord.
ਦੂਖੁ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
dhookh sa(n)taap na lagiee jis har kaa naam adhaar ||
Suffering and sorrow do not touch those who have the Support of the Name of the Lord.
ਬਾਹ ਪਕੜਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਢਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
baeh pakaR gur kaaddiaa soiee utariaa paar ||3||
Grasping him by the arm, the Guru lifts them up and out, and carries them across to the other side. ||3||
ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ॥
thaan suhaavaa pavit hai jithai sa(n)t sabhaa ||
Embellished and immaculate is that place where the Saints gather together.
ਢੋਈ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਨੋ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਭਾ ॥
ddoiee tis hee no milai jin pooraa guroo labhaa ||
He alone finds shelter, who has met the Perfect Guru.
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਧਾ ਘਰੁ ਤਹਾਂ ਜਿਥੈ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਜਰਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੭੬॥
naanak badhaa ghar tahaa(n) jithai mrit na janam jaraa ||4||6||76||
Nanak builds his house upon that site where there is no death, no birth, and no old age. ||4||6||76||
ਸ੍ਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Siree Raag, Fifth Mehla:
ਸੋਈ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾਂ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ॥
soiee dhiaaieeaai jeeaRe sir saahaa(n) paatisaahu ||
Meditate on Him, O my soul; He is the Supreme Lord over kings and emperors.
ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਆਸ ਮਨ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਭਸੁ ਵੇਸਾਹੁ ॥
tis hee kee kar aas man jis kaa sabhas vesaahu ||
Place the hopes of your mind in the One, in whom all have faith.
ਸਭਿ ਸਿਆਣਪਾ ਛਡਿ ਕੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਪਾਹੁ ॥੧॥
sabh siaanapaa chhadd kai gur kee charanee paahu ||1||
Give up all your clever tricks, and grasp the Feet of the Guru. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਸੇਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
man mere sukh sahaj setee jap naau ||
O my mind, chant the Name with intuitive peace and poise.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਇੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aaTh pahar prabh dhiaai too(n) gun goi(n)dh nit gaau ||1|| rahaau ||
Twenty-four hours a day, meditate on God. Constantly sing the Glories of the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਰੁ ਮਨਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
tis kee saranee par manaa jis jevadd avar na koi ||
Seek His Shelter, O my mind; there is no other as Great as He.
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਘਣਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਨ ਮੂਲੇ ਹੋਇ ॥
jis simarat sukh hoi ghanaa dhukh dharadh na moole hoi ||
Remembering Him in meditation, a profound peace is obtained. Pain and suffering will not touch you at all.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
sadhaa sadhaa kar chaakaree prabh saahib sachaa soi ||2||
Forever and ever, work for God; He is our True Lord and Master. ||2||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥
saadhasa(n)gat hoi niramalaa kaTeeaai jam kee faas ||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall become absolutely pure, and the noose of death shall be cut away.
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
sukhadhaataa bhai bha(n)jano tis aagai kar aradhaas ||
So offer your prayers to Him, the Giver of Peace, the Destroyer of fear.
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਵੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
mihar kare jis miharavaan taa(n) kaaraj aavai raas ||3||
Showing His Mercy, the Merciful Master shall resolve your affairs. ||3||
ਬਹੁਤੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਊਚੋ ਊਚਾ ਥਾਉ ॥
bahuto bahut vakhaaneeaai uoocho uoochaa thaau ||
The Lord is said to be the Greatest of the Great; His Kingdom is the Highest of the High.
ਵਰਨਾ ਚਿਹਨਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾਉ ॥
varanaa chihanaa baaharaa keemat keh na sakaau ||
He has no color or mark; His Value cannot be estimated.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਅਪੁਣਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੪॥੭॥੭੭॥
naanak kau prabh miaa kar sach dhevahu apunaa naau ||4||7||77||
Please show Mercy to Nanak, God, and bless him with Your True Name. ||4||7||77||

Siree Raag, Fifth Mehla:
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
naam dhiaae so sukhee tis mukh uoojal hoi ||
One who meditates on the Naam is at peace; his face is radiant and bright.
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਲੋਇ ॥
poore gur te paieeaai paragaT sabhanee loi ||
Obtaining it from the Perfect Guru, he is honored all over the world.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਏਕੋ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥
saadhasa(n)gat kai ghar vasai eko sachaa soi ||1||
In the Company of the Holy, the One True Lord comes to abide within the home of the self. ||1||
