ਚਮਤਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਏਕੁ ਤਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਆ ॥
chamatakaar pragaas dheh dhis ek teh dhirasaTaiaa ||
The brilliant flash of the One Lord is revealed to them - they behold Him in the ten directions.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਚਰਣ ਜੰਪੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੬॥
naanak pia(n)pai charan ja(n)pai bhagat vachhal har biradh aap banaiaa ||4||3||6||
Prays Nanak, I meditate on the Lord's lotus feet; the Lord is the Lover of His devotees; this is His natural way. ||4||3||6||

Aasaa, Fifth Mehla:
ਥਿਰੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਵਏ ॥
thir sa(n)tan sohaag marai na jaave ||
The Husband Lord of the Saints is eternal; He does not die or go away.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੁ ਸੁ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਰਾਵਏ ॥
jaa kai gireh har naahu su sadh hee raave ||
She, whose home is blessed by her Husband Lord, enjoys Him forever.
ਅਵਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਵਿਗਤੁ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਵਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ॥
avinaasee avigat so prabh sadhaa navatan niramalaa ||
God is eternal and immortal, forever young and immaculately pure.
ਨਹ ਦੂਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ॥
neh dhoor sadhaa hadhoor Thaakur dheh dhis pooran sadh sadhaa ||
He is not far away, He is ever-present; the Lord and Master fills the ten directions, forever and ever.
ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਗਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਭਾਵਏ ॥
praanapat gat mat jaa te pria preet preetam bhaave ||
He is the Lord of souls, the source of salvation and wisdom. The Love of my Dear Beloved is pleasing to me.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਥਿਰੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਵਏ ॥੧॥
naanak vakhaanai gur bachan jaanai thir sa(n)tan sohaag marai na jaave ||1||
Nanak speaks what the Guru's Teachings have led him to know. The Husband Lord of the Saints is eternal; He does not die or go away. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਰਾਮ ਭਤਾਰੁ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਅਨਦੁ ਘਣਾ ॥
jaa kau raam bhataar taa kai anadh ghanaa ||
One who has the Lord as her Husband enjoys great bliss.
ਸੁਖਵੰਤੀ ਸਾ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪੂਰਿ ਬਣਾ ॥
sukhava(n)tee saa naar sobhaa poor banaa ||
That soul-bride is happy, and her glory is perfect.
ਮਾਣੁ ਮਹਤੁ ਕਲਿਆਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਰਜਨੁ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ॥
maan mahat kaliaan har jas sa(n)g surajan so prabhoo ||
She obtains honor, greatness and happiness, singing the Praise of the Lord. God, the Great Being, is always with her.
ਸਰਬ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਨਹੀ ਊਨਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੂ ॥
sarab sidh nav nidh tit gireh nahee uoonaa sabh kachhoo ||
She attains total perfection and the nine treasures; her home lacks nothing. - everything is there.
ਮਧੁਰ ਬਾਨੀ ਪਿਰਹਿ ਮਾਨੀ ਥਿਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਬਣਾ ॥
madhur baanee pireh maanee thir sohaag taa kaa banaa ||
Her speech is so sweet; she obeys her Beloved Lord; her marriage is permanent and everlasting.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਰਾਮੁ ਭਤਾਰੁ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਅਨਦੁ ਘਣਾ ॥੨॥

Nanak chants what he knows through the Guru's Teachings: One who has the Lord as her Husband enjoys great bliss. ||2||
ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਸਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੀਐ ॥
aau sakhee sa(n)t paas sevaa laageeaai ||
Come, O my companions, let us dedicate ourselves to serving the Saints.
ਪੀਸਉ ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਰਿ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗੀਐ ॥
peesau charan pakhaar aap tiaageeaai ||
Let us grind their corn, wash their feet and so renounce our self-conceit.
ਤਜਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ਆਪੁ ਨਹ ਜਾਣਾਈਐ ॥
taj aap miTai sa(n)taap aap neh jaanaieeaai ||
Let us shed our egos, and our troubles shall be removed; let us not display ourselves.
ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੀਜੈ ਮਾਨਿ ਲੀਜੈ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
saran gaheejai maan leejai kare so sukh paieeaai ||
Let us take to His Sanctuary and obey Him, and be happy with whatever He does.
ਕਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸੀ ਤਜਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਜਾਗੀਐ ॥
kar dhaas dhaasee taj udhaasee kar joR dhin rain jaageeaai ||
Let us become the slaves of His slaves, and shed our sadness, and with our palms pressed together, remain wakeful day and night.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਸਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੀਐ ॥੩॥
naanak vakhaanai gur bachan jaanai aau sakhee sa(n)t paas sevaa laageeaai ||3||
Nanak chants what he knows through the Guru's Teachings; come, O my companions, let us dedicate ourselves to serving the Saints. ||3||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗ ਸਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
jaa kai masatak bhaag s sevaa laiaa ||
One who has such good destiny written upon his forehead, dedicates himself to His service.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸ ਜਿਨੑ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
taa kee pooran aas jin(h) saadhasa(n)g paiaa ||
One who attains the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, has his desires fulfilled.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਲਾਗਿਆ ॥
saadhasa(n)g har kai ra(n)g gobi(n)dh simaran laagiaa ||
In the Saadh Sangat, immerse yourself in the Love of the Lord; remember the Lord of the Universe in meditation.
ਭਰਮੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਗਲ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਤਿਆਗਿਆ ॥
bharam moh vikaar dhoojaa sagal tineh tiaagiaa ||
Doubt, emotional attachment, sin and duality - he renounces them all.
ਮਨਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜੁ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਵੂਠਾ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
man saa(n)t sahaj subhaau vooThaa anadh ma(n)gal gun gaiaa ||
Peace, poise and tranquility fill his mind, and he sings the Lord's Glorious Praises with joy and delight.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗ ਸਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥੭॥

Shalok:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੰਤਿਆ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਕਹੈ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ॥
har har naam japa(n)tiaa kachh na kahai jamakaal ||
If you chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the Messenger of Death will have nothing to say to you.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋਇ ਅੰਤੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੋਪਾਲੁ ॥੧॥
naanak man tan sukhee hoi a(n)te milai gopaal ||1||
O Nanak, the mind and body will be at peace, and in the end, you shall merge with the Lord of the world. ||1||

ਮਿਲਉ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਾਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥

Let me join the Society of the Saints - save me, Lord!
ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰਉ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ॥
binau karau kar joR har har naam dheh ||
With my palms pressed together, I offer my prayer: give me Your Name, O Lord, Har, Har.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗਉ ਮਾਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਉ ਤੁਮੑ ਦਇਆ ॥
har naam maagau charan laagau maan tiaagau tum(h) dhiaa ||
I beg for the Lord's Name, and fall at His feet; I renounce my self-conceit, by Your kindness.
ਕਤਹੂੰ ਨ ਧਾਵਉ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਾਵਉ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਿ ਮਇਆ ॥
katahoo(n) na dhaavau saran paavau karunaa mai prabh kar miaa ||
I shall not wander anywhere else, but take to Your Sanctuary. O God, embodiment of mercy, have mercy on me.
ਸਮਰਥ ਅਗਥ ਅਪਾਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਿਨਉ ਏਹੁ ॥
samarath agath apaar niramal sunahu suaamee binau eh ||
O all-powerful, indescribable, infinite and immaculate Lord Master, listen to this, my prayer.
ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਨੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੧॥
kar joR naanak dhaan maagai janam maran nivaar leh ||1||
With palms pressed together, Nanak begs for this blessing: O Lord, let my cycle of birth and death come to an end. ||1||
