Ang 510 of 1,430

ਇਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਹੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥

eih jeeau sadhaa mukat hai sahaje rahiaa samai ||2||

Then, this soul is liberated forever, and it remains absorbed in celestial bliss. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ ॥

pauRee ||

Pauree:

ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਕੀਤਾ ॥

prabh sa(n)saar upai kai vas aapanai keetaa ||

God created the Universe, and He keeps it under His power.

ਗਣਤੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਰਮੀਤਾ ॥

ganatai prabhoo na paieeaai dhoojai bharameetaa ||

God cannot be obtained by counting; the mortal wanders in doubt.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਬੁਝਿ ਸਚਿ ਸਮੀਤਾ ॥

satigur miliaai jeevat marai bujh sach sameetaa ||

Meeting the True Guru, one remains dead while yet alive; understanding Him, he is absorbed in the Truth.

ਸਬਦੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਖੋਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲੀਤਾ ॥

sabadhe haumai khoieeaai har mel mileetaa ||

Through the Word of the Shabad, egotism is eradicated, and one is united in the Lord's Union.

ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਕਰੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੇ ਵਿਗਸੀਤਾ ॥੪॥

sabh kichh jaanai kare aap aape vigaseetaa ||4||

He knows everything, and Himself does everything; beholding His Creation, He rejoices. ||4||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

salok mahalaa teejaa ||

Shalok, Third Mehla:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਨ ਲਾਇਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸਿਓ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥

satigur siau chit na laio naam na vasio man aai ||

One who has not focused his consciousness on the True Guru, and into whose mind the Naam does not come

ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਇਵੇਹਾ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਕਿਆ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਇ ॥

dhirag ivehaa jeeviaa kiaa jug meh paiaa aai ||

cursed is such a life. What has he gained by coming into the world?

ਮਾਇਆ ਖੋਟੀ ਰਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਏਕ ਚਸੇ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਜੁ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥

maiaa khoTee raas hai ek chase meh paaj leh jai ||

Maya is false capital; in an instant, its false covering falls off.

ਹਥਹੁ ਛੁੜਕੀ ਤਨੁ ਸਿਆਹੁ ਹੋਇ ਬਦਨੁ ਜਾਇ ਕੁਮਲਾਇ ॥

hathahu chhuRakee tan siaahu hoi badhan jai kumalai ||

When it slips from his hand, his body turns black, and his face withers away.

ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਨੑ ਸੁਖੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥

jin satigur siau chit laiaa tin(h) sukh vasiaa man aai ||

Those who focus their consciousness on the True Guru - peace comes to abide in their minds.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥

har naam dhiaaveh ra(n)g siau har naam rahe liv lai ||

They meditate on the Name of the Lord with love; they are lovingly attuned to the Name of the Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਸਉਪਿਆ ਜਿ ਜੀਅ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

naanak satigur so dhan saupiaa j jeea meh rahiaa samai ||

O Nanak, the True Guru has bestowed upon them the wealth, which remains contained within their hearts.

ਰੰਗੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਉ ਅਗਲਾ ਵੰਨੀ ਚੜੈ ਚੜਾਇ ॥੧॥

ra(n)g tisai kau agalaa va(n)nee chaRai chaRai ||1||

They are imbued with supreme love; its color increases day by day. ||1||

ਮਃ ੩ ॥

Third Mehla:

ਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਈ ਨਾਗਨੀ ਜਗਤਿ ਰਹੀ ਲਪਟਾਇ ॥

maiaa hoiee naaganee jagat rahee lapaTai ||

Maya is a serpent, clinging to the world.

ਇਸ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਫਿਰਿ ਖਾਇ ॥

eis kee sevaa jo kare tis hee kau fir khai ||

Whoever serves her, she ultimately devours.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੋਈ ਗਾਰੜੂ ਤਿਨਿ ਮਲਿ ਦਲਿ ਲਾਈ ਪਾਇ ॥

gurmukh koiee gaaraRoo tin mal dhal laiee pai ||

The Gurmukh is a snake-charmer; he has trampled her and thrown her down, and crushed her underfoot.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇਈ ਉਬਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੨॥

naanak seiee ubare j sach rahe liv lai ||2||

O Nanak, they alone are saved, who remain lovingly absorbed in the True Lord. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ ॥

Pauree:

ਢਾਢੀ ਕਰੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁਣਾਇਸੀ ॥

ddaaddee kare pukaar prabhoo sunaisee ||

The minstrel cries out, and God hears him.

ਅੰਦਰਿ ਧੀਰਕ ਹੋਇ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਸੀ ॥

a(n)dhar dheerak hoi pooraa paisee ||

He is comforted within his mind, and he obtains the Perfect Lord.

ਜੋ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲੇਖੁ ਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇਸੀ ॥

jo dhur likhiaa lekh se karam kamaisee ||

Whatever destiny is pre-ordained by the Lord, those are the deeds he does.

ਜਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਖਸਮੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਤਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਇਸੀ ॥

jaa hovai khasam dhiaal taa mahal ghar paisee ||

When the Lord and Master becomes Merciful, then one obtains the Mansion of the Lord's Presence as his home.

ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਤਿ ਵਡਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੇਲਾਇਸੀ ॥੫॥

so prabh meraa at vaddaa gurmukh melaisee ||5||

That God of mine is so very great; as Gurmukh, I have met Him. ||5||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

salok mahalaa teejaa ||

Shalok, Third Mehla:

ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਸਹੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਰਹੈ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥

sabhanaa kaa sahu ek hai sadh hee rahai hajoor ||

There is One Lord God of all; He remains ever-present.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਮੰਨਈ ਤਾ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ॥

naanak hukam na ma(n)niee taa ghar hee a(n)dhar dhoor ||

O Nanak, if one does not obey the Hukam of the Lord's Command, then within one's own home, the Lord seems far away.

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਭੀ ਤਿਨੑਾ ਮਨਾਇਸੀ ਜਿਨੑ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥

hukam bhee tin(h)aa manaisee jin(h) kau nadhar karei ||

They alone obey the Lord's Command, upon whom He casts His Glance of Grace.

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥

hukam ma(n)n sukh paiaa prem suhaagan hoi ||1||

Obeying His Command, one obtains peace, and becomes the happy, loving soul-bride. ||1||

ਮਃ ੩ ॥

Third Mehla:

ਰੈਣਿ ਸਬਾਈ ਜਲਿ ਮੁਈ ਕੰਤ ਨ ਲਾਇਓ ਭਾਉ ॥

rain sabaiee jal muiee ka(n)t na laio bhaau ||

She who does not love her Husband Lord, burns and wastes away all through the night of her life.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਸਨਿ ਸੋੁਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨੑ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਉ ॥੨॥

naanak sukh vasan suohaaganee jin(h) piaaraa purakh har raau ||2||

O Nanak, the soul-brides dwell in peace; they have the Lord, their King, as their Husband. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ ॥

Pauree:

ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਮੈ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ॥

sabh jag fir mai dhekhiaa har iko dhaataa ||

Roaming over the entire world, I have seen that the Lord is the only Giver.

ਉਪਾਇ ਕਿਤੈ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥

aupai kitai na paieeaai har karam bidhaataa ||

The Lord cannot be obtained by any device at all; He is the Architect of Karma.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਜਾਤਾ ॥

gur sabadhee har man vasai har sahaje jaataa ||

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord comes to dwell in the mind, and the Lord is easily revealed within.

ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਤਾ ॥

a(n)dharahu tirasanaa agan bujhee har a(n)mirat sar naataa ||

The fire of desire within is quenched, and one bathes in the Lord's Pool of Ambrosial Nectar.

ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵਡੇ ਕੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲਾਤਾ ॥੬॥

vaddee vaddiaaiee vadde kee gurmukh bolaataa ||6||

The great greatness of the great Lord God - the Gurmukh speaks of this. ||6||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

Shalok, Third Mehla:

ਕਾਇਆ ਹੰਸ ਕਿਆ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਜਿ ਪਇਆ ਹੀ ਛਡਿ ਜਾਇ ॥

kaiaa ha(n)s kiaa preet hai j piaa hee chhadd jai ||

What love is this between the body and soul, which ends when the body falls?

ਏਸ ਨੋ ਕੂੜੁ ਬੋਲਿ ਕਿ ਖਵਾਲੀਐ ਜਿ ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥

es no kooR bol k khavaaleeaai j chaladhiaa naal na jai ||

Why feed it by telling lies? When you leave, it does not go with you.
