Deluded by doubt, O Jai Chand,
ਨਹੀ ਨਹੀ ਚੀਨਿੑਆ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nahee nahee cheeni(h)aa paramaana(n)dhaa ||1|| rahaau ||
you have not realized the Lord, the embodiment of supreme bliss. ||1||Pause||
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਖਾਇਆ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਬਧਾਇਆ ਖਿੰਥਾ ਮੁੰਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
ghar ghar khaiaa pi(n)dd badhaiaa khi(n)thaa mu(n)dhaa maiaa ||
You eat in each and every house, fattening your body; you wear the patched coat and the ear-rings of the beggar, for the sake of wealth.
ਭੂਮਿ ਮਸਾਣ ਕੀ ਭਸਮ ਲਗਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਤਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
bhoom masaan kee bhasam lagaiee gur bin tat na paiaa ||2||
You apply the ashes of cremation to your body, but without a Guru, you have not found the essence of reality. ||2||
ਕਾਇ ਜਪਹੁ ਰੇ ਕਾਇ ਤਪਹੁ ਰੇ ਕਾਇ ਬਿਲੋਵਹੁ ਪਾਣੀ ॥
kai japahu re kai tapahu re kai bilovahu paanee ||
Why bother to chant your spells? Why bother to practice austerities? Why bother to churn water?
ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜਿਨਿੑ ਉਪਾਈ ਸੋ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
lakh chauraaseeh jini(h) upaiee so simarahu nirabaanee ||3||
Meditate on the Lord of Nirvaanaa, who has created the 8.4 million species of beings. ||3||
ਕਾਇ ਕਮੰਡਲੁ ਕਾਪੜੀਆ ਰੇ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਕਾਇ ਫਿਰਾਹੀ ॥
kai kama(n)ddal kaapaReeaa re aThasaTh kai firaahee ||
Why bother to carry the water-pot, O saffron-robed Yogi? Why bother to visit the sixty-eight holy places of pilgrimage?
ਬਦਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨੁ ਸੁਨੁ ਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਕਣ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਾਹੁ ਕਿ ਪਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੧॥
badhat tiralochan sun re praanee kan bin gaahu k paahee ||4||1||
Says Trilochan, listen, mortal: you have no corn - what are you trying to thresh? ||4||1||

ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਲਛਮੀ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
a(n)t kaal jo lachhamee simarai aaisee chi(n)taa meh je marai ||
At the very last moment, one who thinks of wealth, and dies in such thoughts,
ਸਰਪ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੧॥
sarap jon val val aautarai ||1||
shall be reincarnated over and over again, in the form of serpents. ||1||
ਅਰੀ ਬਾਈ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਤਿ ਬੀਸਰੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aree baiee gobidh naam mat beesarai || rahaau ||
O sister, do not forget the Name of the Lord of the Universe. ||Pause||
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
a(n)t kaal jo isatree simarai aaisee chi(n)taa meh je marai ||
At the very last moment, he who thinks of women, and dies in such thoughts,
ਬੇਸਵਾ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੨॥
besavaa jon val val aautarai ||2||
shall be reincarnated over and over again as a prostitute. ||2||
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਲੜਿਕੇ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
a(n)t kaal jo laRike simarai aaisee chi(n)taa meh je marai ||
At the very last moment, one who thinks of his children, and dies in such thoughts,
ਸੂਕਰ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੩॥
sookar jon val val aautarai ||3||
shall be reincarnated over and over again as a pig. ||3||
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਮੰਦਰ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
a(n)t kaal jo ma(n)dhar simarai aaisee chi(n)taa meh je marai ||
At the very last moment, one who thinks of mansions, and dies in such thoughts,
ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੪॥
pret jon val val aautarai ||4||
shall be reincarnated over and over again as a goblin. ||4||
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
a(n)t kaal naarain simarai aaisee chi(n)taa meh je marai ||
At the very last moment, one who thinks of the Lord, and dies in such thoughts,
ਬਦਤਿ ਤਿਲੋਚਨੁ ਤੇ ਨਰ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਪੀਤੰਬਰੁ ਵਾ ਕੇ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸੈ ॥੫॥੨॥
badhat tilochan te nar mukataa peeta(n)bar vaa ke ridhai basai ||5||2||
says Trilochan, that man shall be liberated; the Lord shall abide in his heart. ||5||2||
ਗੂਜਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜੈਦੇਵ ਜੀਉ ਕਾ ਪਦਾ ਘਰੁ ੪

ਪਰਮਾਦਿ ਪੁਰਖਮਨੋਪਿਮੰ ਸਤਿ ਆਦਿ ਭਾਵ ਰਤੰ ॥
paramaadh purakhamanopima(n) sat aadh bhaav rata(n) ||
In the very beginning, was the Primal Lord, unrivalled, the Lover of Truth and other virtues.
ਪਰਮਦਭੁਤੰ ਪਰਕ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਪਰੰ ਜਦਿਚਿੰਤਿ ਸਰਬ ਗਤੰ ॥੧॥
paramadhabhuta(n) parakirat para(n) jadhichi(n)t sarab gata(n) ||1||
He is absolutely wonderful, transcending creation; remembering Him, all are emancipated. ||1||
ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਮਨੋਰਮੰ ॥
keval raam naam manorama(n) ||
Dwell only upon the beauteous Name of the Lord,
ਬਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਤਤ ਮਇਅੰ ॥
badh a(n)mirat tat mia(n) ||
the embodiment of ambrosial nectar and reality.
ਨ ਦਨੋਤਿ ਜਸਮਰਣੇਨ ਜਨਮ ਜਰਾਧਿ ਮਰਣ ਭਇਅੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
n dhanot jasamaranen janam jaraadh maran bhia(n) ||1|| rahaau ||
Remembering Him in meditation, the fear of birth, old age and death will not trouble you. ||1||Pause||
ਇਛਸਿ ਜਮਾਦਿ ਪਰਾਭਯੰ ਜਸੁ ਸ੍ਵਸਤਿ ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੰ ॥
eichhas jamaadh paraabhaya(n) jas savaisat sukirat kirata(n) ||
If you desire to escape the fear of the Messenger of Death, then praise the Lord joyfully, and do good deeds.
ਭਵ ਭੂਤ ਭਾਵ ਸਮਬੵਿਅੰ ਪਰਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਮਿਦੰ ॥੨॥
bhav bhoot bhaav samabiyea(n) parama(n) prasa(n)namidha(n) ||2||
In the past, present and future, He is always the same; He is the embodiment of supreme bliss. ||2||
ਲੋਭਾਦਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਪਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੰ ਜਦਿਬਿਧਿ ਆਚਰਣੰ ॥
lobhaadh dhirasaT par giraha(n) jadhibidh aacharana(n) ||
If you seek the path of good conduct, forsake greed, and do not look upon other men's property and women.
ਤਜਿ ਸਕਲ ਦੁਹਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੁਰਮਤੀ ਭਜੁ ਚਕ੍ਰਧਰ ਸਰਣੰ ॥੩॥
taj sakal dhuhakirat dhuramatee bhaj chakaradhar sarana(n) ||3||
Renounce all evil actions and evil inclinations, and hurry to the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤ ਨਿਜ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲਾ ਰਿਦ ਕਰਮਣਾ ਬਚਸਾ ॥
har bhagat nij nihakevalaa ridh karamanaa bachasaa ||
Worship the immaculate Lord, in thought, word and deed.
ਜੋਗੇਨ ਕਿੰ ਜਗੇਨ ਕਿੰ ਦਾਨੇਨ ਕਿੰ ਤਪਸਾ ॥੪॥
jogen ki(n) jagen ki(n) dhaanen ki(n) tapasaa ||4||
What is the good of practicing Yoga, giving feasts and charity, and practicing penance? ||4||
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੇਤਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਰ ਸਕਲ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਦੰ ॥
gobi(n)dh gobi(n)dhet jap nar sakal sidh padha(n) ||
Meditate on the Lord of the Universe, the Lord of the Universe, O man; He is the source of all the spiritual powers of the Siddhas.
ਜੈਦੇਵ ਆਇਉ ਤਸ ਸਫੁਟੰ ਭਵ ਭੂਤ ਸਰਬ ਗਤੰ ॥੫॥੧॥
jaidhev aaiau tas safuTa(n) bhav bhoot sarab gata(n) ||5||1||
Jai Dayv has openly come to Him; He is the salvation of all, in the past, present and future. ||5||1||
