ਸੰਤਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਭ ਥਾਈ ॥
sa(n)tahu sukh hoaa sabh thaiee ||
O Saints, there is peace everywhere.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭਨੀ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paarabraham pooran paramesar rav rahiaa sabhanee jaiee || rahaau ||
The Supreme Lord God, the Perfect Transcendent Lord, is pervading everywhere. ||Pause||
ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਈ ॥
dhur kee baanee aaiee ||
The Bani of His Word emanated from the Primal Lord.
ਤਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥
tin sagalee chi(n)t miTaiee ||
It eradicates all anxiety.
ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਾ ॥
dhiaal purakh miharavaanaa ||
The Lord is merciful, kind and compassionate.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚੁ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੭੭॥
har naanak saach vakhaanaa ||2||13||77||
Nanak chants the Naam, the Name of the True Lord. ||2||13||77||
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
soraTh mahalaa panjavaa ||
Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:
ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥
aaithai othai rakhavaalaa ||
Here and hereafter, He is our Savior.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
prabh satigur dheen dhiaalaa ||
God, the True Guru, is Merciful to the meek.
ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਆਪਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
dhaas apane aap raakhe ||
He Himself protects His slaves.
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖੇ ॥੧॥
ghaT ghaT sabadh subhaakhe ||1||
In each and every heart, the Beautiful Word of His Shabad resounds. ||1||
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਊਪਰਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
gur ke charan uoopar bal jaiee ||
I am a sacrifice to the Guru's Feet.
ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਲੀ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dhinas rain saas saas samaalee pooran sabhanee thaiee || rahaau ||
Day and night, with each and every breath, I remember Him; He is totally pervading and permeating all places. ||Pause||
ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਆ ॥
aap sahaiee hoaa ||
He Himself has become my help and support.
ਸਚੇ ਦਾ ਸਚਾ ਢੋਆ ॥
sache dhaa sachaa ddoaa ||
True is the support of the True Lord.
ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
teree bhagat vaddiaaiee ||
Glorious and great is devotional worship to You.
ਪਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੭੮॥
paiee naanak prabh saranaiee ||2||14||78||
Nanak has found God's Sanctuary. ||2||14||78||
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
satigur poore bhaanaa ||
When it was pleasing to the Perfect True Guru,
ਤਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮਾਣਾ ॥
taa japiaa naam ramaanaa ||
then I chanted the Naam, the Name of the Pervading Lord.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
gobi(n)dh kirapaa dhaaree ||
The Lord of the Universe extended His Mercy to me,
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਪੈਜ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
prabh raakhee paij hamaaree ||1||
and God saved my honor. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
har ke charan sadhaa sukhadhaiee ||
The Lord's feet are forever peace-giving.
ਜੋ ਇਛਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo ichheh soiee fal paaveh birathee aas na jaiee ||1|| rahaau ||
Whatever fruit one desires, he receives; his hopes shall not go in vain. ||1||Pause||
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
kirapaa kare jis praanapat dhaataa soiee sa(n)t gun gaavai ||
That Saint, unto whom the Lord of Life, the Great Giver, extends His Mercy - he alone sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਣਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
prem bhagat taa kaa man leenaa paarabraham man bhaavai ||2||
His soul is absorbed in loving devotional worship; his mind is pleasing to the Supreme Lord God. ||2||
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਰਵਣਾ ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਥੀ ॥
aaTh pahar har kaa jas ravanaa bikhai Thagauree laathee ||
Twenty-four hours a day, he chants the Praises of the Lord, and the bitter poison does not affect him.
ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲੀਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਧ ਭਏ ਸਾਥੀ ॥੩॥
sa(n)g milai leeaa merai karatai sa(n)t saadh bhe saathee ||3||
My Creator Lord has united me with Himself, and the Holy Saints have become my companions. ||3||
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਦੀਨੇ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
kar geh leene sarabas dheene aapeh aap milaiaa ||
Taking me by the hand, He has given me everything, and blended me with Himself.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੭੯॥
kahu naanak sarab thok pooran pooraa satigur paiaa ||4||15||79||
Says Nanak, everything has been perfectly resolved; I have found the Perfect True Guru. ||4||15||79||
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:
ਗਰੀਬੀ ਗਦਾ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
gareebee gadhaa hamaaree ||
Humility is my spiked club.
ਖੰਨਾ ਸਗਲ ਰੇਨੁ ਛਾਰੀ ॥
kha(n)naa sagal ren chhaaree ||
My dagger is to be the dust of all men's feet.
ਇਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕੋ ਨ ਟਿਕੈ ਵੇਕਾਰੀ ॥
eis aagai ko na Tikai vekaaree ||
No evil-doer can withstand these weapons.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਏਹ ਗਲ ਸਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
gur poore eh gal saaree ||1||
The Perfect Guru has given me this understanding. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਓਟਾ ॥
har har naam sa(n)tan kee oTaa ||
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the support and shelter of the Saints.
ਜੋ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਉਧਰਹਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੋਟਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo simarai tis kee gat hovai udhareh sagale koTaa ||1|| rahaau ||
One who remembers the Lord in meditation, is emancipated; millions have been saved in this way. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
sa(n)t sa(n)g jas gaiaa ||
In the Society of the Saints, I sing His Praises.
ਇਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
eih pooran har dhan paiaa ||
I have found this, the perfect wealth of the Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥
kahu naanak aap miTaiaa ||
Says Nanak, I have eradicated my self-conceit.
ਸਭੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥੧੬॥੮੦॥
sabh paarabraham nadharee aaiaa ||2||16||80||
I see the Supreme Lord God everywhere. ||2||16||80||

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਨੀ ॥
gur poorai pooree keenee ||
The Perfect Guru has done it perfectly.
ਬਖਸ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ॥
bakhas apunee kar dheenee ||
He blessed me with forgiveness.
ਨਿਤ ਅਨੰਦ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
nit ana(n)dh sukh paiaa ||
I have found lasting peace and bliss.
ਥਾਵ ਸਗਲੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
thaav sagale sukhee vasaiaa ||1||
Everywhere, the people dwell in peace. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਫਲ ਦਾਤੀ ॥
har kee bhagat fal dhaatee ||
Devotional worship to the Lord is what gives rewards.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਜਾਤੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur poorai kirapaa kar dheenee viralai kin hee jaatee || rahaau ||
The Perfect Guru, by His Grace, gave it to me; how rare are those who know this. ||Pause||
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਹ ਭਾਈ ॥
gurbaanee gaaveh bhaiee ||
Sing the Word of the Guru's Bani, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਓਹ ਸਫਲ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
oh safal sadhaa sukhadhaiee ||
That is always rewarding and peace-giving.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
naanak naam dhiaaiaa ||
Nanak has meditated on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੧੭॥੮੧॥
poorab likhiaa paiaa ||2||17||81||
He has realized his pre-ordained destiny. ||2||17||81||
