Dhanaasaree, Fourth Mehla:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੂੰਦ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਬਿਲਲ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੀ ॥
har har boo(n)dh bhe har suaamee ham chaatirak bilal bilalaatee ||
The Lord, Har, Har, is the rain-drop; I am the song-bird, crying, crying out for it.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਖਾਤੀ ॥੧॥
har har kirapaa karahu prabh apanee mukh dhevahu har nimakhaatee ||1||
O Lord God, please bless me with Your Mercy, and pour Your Name into my mouth, even if for only an instant. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਇਕ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
har bin reh na sakau ik raatee ||
Without the Lord, I cannot live for even a second.
ਜਿਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਮਲੈ ਅਮਲੀ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈ ਹੈ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਮ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਤੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jiau bin amalai amalee mar jaiee hai tiau har bin ham mar jaatee || rahaau ||
Like the addict who dies without his drug, I die without the Lord. ||Pause||
ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਵਰ ਅਤਿ ਅਗਾਹ ਹਮ ਲਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਅੰਤੁ ਮਾਤੀ ॥
tum har saravar at agaeh ham leh na sakeh a(n)t maatee ||
You, Lord, are the deepest, most unfathomable ocean; I cannot find even a trace of Your limits.
ਤੂ ਪਰੈ ਪਰੈ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਿਤਿ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਗਾਤੀ ॥੨॥
too parai parai apara(n)par suaamee mit jaanahu aapan gaatee ||2||
You are the most remote of the remote, limitless and transcendent; O Lord Master, You alone know Your state and extent. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੈ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
har ke sa(n)t janaa har japio gur ra(n)g chaloolai raatee ||
The Lord's humble Saints meditate on the Lord; they are imbued with the deep crimson color of the Guru's Love.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਨੀ ਅਤਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਊਤਮ ਪਾਤੀ ॥੩॥
har har bhagat banee at sobhaa har japio uootam paatee ||3||
Meditating on the Lord, they attain great glory, and the most sublime honor. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਵੈ ਭਾਤੀ ॥
aape Thaakur aape sevak aap banaavai bhaatee ||
He Himself is the Lord and Master, and He Himself is the servant; He Himself creates His environments.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ਭਗਾਤੀ ॥੪॥੫॥
naanak jan tumaree saranaiee har raakhahu laaj bhagaatee ||4||5||
Servant Nanak has come to Your Sanctuary, O Lord; protect and preserve the honor of Your devotee. ||4||5||

ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਕਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਈ ਕਿਵ ਛੂਟਹ ਹਮ ਛੁਟਕਾਕੀ ॥
kalijug kaa dharam kahahu tum bhaiee kiv chhooTeh ham chhuTakaakee ||
Tell me, O Siblings of Destiny, the religion for this Dark Age of Kali Yuga. I seek emancipation - how can I be emancipated?
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਬੇੜੀ ਹਰਿ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਤਰੈ ਤਰਾਕੀ ॥੧॥
har har jap beRee har tulahaa har japio tarai taraakee ||1||
Meditation on the Lord, Har, Har, is the boat, the raft; meditating on the Lord, the swimmer swims across. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ॥
har jee laaj rakhahu har jan kee ||
O Dear Lord, protect and preserve the honor of Your humble servant.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੁ ਜਪਾਵਹੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਹਮ ਮਾਗੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਇਕਾਕੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har japan japaavahu apanaa ham maagee bhagat ikaakee || rahaau ||
O Lord, Har, Har, please make me chant the chant of Your Name; I beg only for Your devotional worship. ||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਬਚਨਾਕੀ ॥
har ke sevak se har piaare jin japio har bachanaakee ||
The Lord's servants are very dear to the Lord; they chant the Word of the Lord's Bani.
ਲੇਖਾ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਪਤਿ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸਭ ਛੂਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਬਾਕੀ ॥੨॥
lekhaa chitr gupat jo likhiaa sabh chhooTee jam kee baakee ||2||
The account of the recording angels, Chitr and Gupt, and the account with the Messenger of Death is totally erased. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਪਿਓ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ॥
har ke sa(n)t japio man har har lag sa(n)gat saadh janaa kee ||
The Saints of the Lord meditate on the Lord in their minds; they join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਦਿਨੀਅਰੁ ਸੂਰੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਨੀ ਸਿਵ ਚਰਿਓ ਚੰਦੁ ਚੰਦਾਕੀ ॥੩॥
dhineear soor tirasanaa agan bujhaanee siv chario cha(n)dh cha(n)dhaakee ||3||
The piercing sun of desires has set, and the cool moon has risen. ||3||
ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਤੁਮ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਅਪਾਕੀ ॥
tum vadd purakh vadd agam agochar tum aape aap apaakee ||
You are the Greatest Being, absolutely unapproachable and unfathomable; You created the Universe from Your Own Being.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਸਾਕੀ ॥੪॥੬॥
jan naanak kau prabh kirapaa keejai kar dhaasan dhaas dhasaakee ||4||6||
O God, take pity on servant Nanak, and make him the slave of the slave of Your slaves. ||4||6||

Dhanaasaree, Fourth Mehla, Fifth House, Dho-Padhay:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਰਮੋ ਰਮੁ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਨੇ ॥
aur dhaar beechaar muraar ramo ram manmohan naam japeene ||
Enshrine the Lord within your heart, and contemplate Him. Dwell upon Him, reflect upon Him, and chant the Name of the Lord, the Enticer of hearts.
ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥੧॥
adhirasaT agochar apara(n)par suaamee gur poorai pragaT kar dheene ||1||
The Lord Master is unseen, unfathomable and unreachable; through the Perfect Guru, He is revealed. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਪਾਰਸ ਚੰਦਨ ਹਮ ਕਾਸਟ ਲੋਸਟ ॥
raam paaras cha(n)dhan ham kaasaT losaT ||
The Lord is the philosopher's stone, which transforms lead into gold, and sandalwood, while I am just dry wood and iron.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰੀ ਸਤਸੰਗੁ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਕੀਨੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har sa(n)g haree satasa(n)g bhe har ka(n)chan cha(n)dhan keene ||1|| rahaau ||
Associating with the Lord, and the Sat Sangat, the Lord's True Congregation, the Lord has transformed me into gold and sandalwood. ||1||Pause||
ਨਵ ਛਿਅ ਖਟੁ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਮੁਖ ਆਗਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਇਵ ਨ ਪਤੀਨੇ ॥
nav chhia khaT boleh mukh aagar meraa har prabh iv na pateene ||
One may repeat, verbatim, the nine grammars and the six Shaastras, but my Lord God is not pleased by this.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਦ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਇਉ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਭੀਨੇ ॥੨॥੧॥੭॥
jan naanak har hiradhai sadh dhiaavahu iau har prabh meraa bheene ||2||1||7||
O servant Nanak, meditate forever on the Lord in your heart; this is what pleases my Lord God. ||2||1||7||
