ਹਰਿ ਮੰਗਲ ਰਸਿ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ॥੨॥
har ma(n)gal ras rasan rasaae naanak naam pragaasaa ||2||
My tongue tastes the taste of the Lord's joyous song; O Nanak, the Naam shines forth brightly. ||2||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
a(n)tar ratan beechaare || gurmukh naam piaare ||
The Gurmukh loves the Name of the Lord; deep within, she contemplates the jewel of the Naam.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅਧੇਰੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
har naam piaare sabadh nisataare agiaan adher gavaiaa ||
Those who love the Lord's Name are emancipated through the Word of the Shabad. The darkness of ignorance is dispelled.
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡੁ ਬਲਿਆ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਘਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਸੋਹਾਇਆ ॥
giaan pracha(n)dd baliaa ghaT chaanan ghar ma(n)dhar sohaiaa ||
Spiritual wisdom burns brilliantly, illuminating the heart; their homes and temples are embellished and blessed.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਚੇ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
tan man arap seegaar banaae har prabh saache bhaiaa ||
I have made my body and mind into adornments, and dedicated them to the True Lord God, pleasing Him.
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਪਰੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
jo prabh kahai soiee par keejai naanak a(n)k samaiaa ||3||
Whatever God says, I gladly do. O Nanak, I have merged into the fiber of His Being. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਾਜੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥
har prabh kaaj rachaiaa ||
The Lord God has arranged the marriage ceremony;
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੀਆਹਣਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
gurmukh veeaahan aaiaa ||
He has come to marry the Gurmukh.
ਵੀਆਹਣਿ ਆਇਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
veeaahan aaiaa gurmukh har paiaa saa dhan ka(n)t piaaree ||
He has come to marry the Gurmukh, who has found the Lord. That bride is very dear to her Lord.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
sa(n)t janaa mil ma(n)gal gaae har jeeau aap savaaree ||
The humble Saints join together and sing the songs of joy; the Dear Lord Himself has adorned the soul-bride.
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਏ ਅਪੂਰਬ ਜੰਞ ਬਣਾਈ ॥
sur nar gan ga(n)dharab mil aae apoorab ja(n)n(j) banaiee ||
The angels and mortal beings, the heavenly heralds and celestial singers, have come together and formed a wondrous wedding party.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥
naanak prabh paiaa mai saachaa naa kadhe marai na jaiee ||4||1||3||
O Nanak, I have found my True Lord God, who never dies, and is not born. ||4||1||3||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਆਵਹੋ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
aavaho sa(n)t janahu gun gaaveh govi(n)dh kere raam ||
Come, humble Saints, and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀਐ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਜਹਿ ਸਬਦ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
gurmukh mil raheeaai ghar vaajeh sabadh ghanere raam ||
Let us gather together as Gurmukh; within the home of our own heart, the Shabad vibrates and resonates.
ਸਬਦ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਈ ॥
sabadh ghanere har prabh tere too karataa sabh thaiee ||
The many melodies of the Shabad are Yours, O Lord God; O Creator Lord, You are everywhere.
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਜਪੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
ahinis japee sadhaa saalaahee saach sabadh liv laiee ||
Day and night, I chant His Praises forever, lovingly focusing on the True Word of the Shabad.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਰਹੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
anadhin sahaj rahai ra(n)g raataa raam naam ridh poojaa ||
Night and day, I remain intuitively attuned to the Lord's Love; in my heart, I worship the Lord's Name.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥
naanak gurmukh ek pachhaanai avar na jaanai dhoojaa ||1||
O Nanak, as Gurmukh, I have realized the One Lord; I do not know any other. ||1||
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
sabh meh rav rahiaa so prabh a(n)tarajaamee raam ||
He is contained amongst all; He is God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਵੈ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
gur sabadh ravai rav rahiaa so prabh meraa suaamee raam ||
One who meditates and dwells upon God, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, knows that God, my Lord and Master, is pervading everywhere.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥
prabh meraa suaamee a(n)tarajaamee ghaT ghaT raviaa soiee ||
God, my Lord and Master, is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He pervades and permeates each and every heart.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
gurmat sach paieeaai sahaj samaieeaai tis bin avar na koiee ||
Through the Guru's Teachings, Truth is obtained, and then, one merges in celestial bliss. There is no other than Him.
ਸਹਜੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਾ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
sahaje gun gaavaa je prabh bhaavaa aape le milaae ||
I sing His Praises with intuitive ease. If it pleases God, He shall unite me with Himself.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਜਾਪੈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੨॥
naanak so prabh sabadhe jaapai ahinis naam dhiaae ||2||
O Nanak, through the Shabad, God is known; meditate on the Naam, day and night. ||2||
ਇਹੁ ਜਗੋ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
eih jago dhutar manmukh paar na paiee raam ||
This world is treacherous and impassable; the self-willed manmukh cannot cross over.
ਅੰਤਰੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
a(n)tare haumai mamataa kaam karodh chaturaiee raam ||
Within him is egotism, self-conceit, sexual desire, anger and cleverness.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
a(n)tar chaturaiee thai na paiee birathaa janam gavaiaa ||
Within him is cleverness; he is not approved, and his life is uselessly wasted and lost.
ਜਮ ਮਗਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਵੈ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਇਆ ॥
jam mag dhukh paavai choTaa khaavai a(n)t giaa pachhutaiaa ||
On the Path of Death, he suffers in pain, and must endure abuse; in the end, he departs regretfully.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਬੇਲੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੁਤੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਸੁਤੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
bin naavai ko belee naahee put kuTa(n)b sut bhaiee ||
Without the Name, he has no friends, no children, family or relatives.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਆਗੈ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
naanak maiaa moh pasaaraa aagai saath na jaiee ||3||
O Nanak, the wealth of Maya, attachment and ostentatious shows - none of them shall go along with him to the world hereafter. ||3||
ਹਉ ਪੂਛਉ ਅਪਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਕਿਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਰੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
hau poochhau apanaa satigur dhaataa kin bidh dhutar tareeaai raam ||
I ask my True Guru, the Giver, how to cross over the treacherous and difficult world-ocean.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ਚਲਹੁ ਜੀਵਤਿਆ ਇਵ ਮਰੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
satigur bhai chalahu jeevatiaa iv mareeaai raam ||
Walk in harmony with the True Guru's Will, and remain dead while yet alive.
ਜੀਵਤਿਆ ਮਰੀਐ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰੀਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
jeevatiaa mareeaai bhaujal tareeaai gurmukh naam samaavai ||
Remaining dead while yet alive, cross over the terrifying world-ocean; as Gurmukh, merge in the Naam.
