ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਦਰਿ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੇ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਕੀਓ ॥੧॥

naanak se dhar sobhaava(n)te jo prabh apunai keeo ||1||

O Nanak, they alone look beautiful in the Court of the Lord, whom the Lord has made His Own. ||1||

ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੀ ਚਿਤ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਸਖੀਏ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਛਾਇਆ ॥

haricha(n)dhauree chit bhram sakhe'ee mirag tirasanaa dhrum chhaiaa ||

Maya is a mirage, which deludes the mind, O my companion, like the scent-crazed deer, or the transitory shade of a tree.

ਚੰਚਲਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਤੀ ਸਖੀਏ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਜਿ ਜਾਵਤ ਮਾਇਆ ॥

cha(n)chal sa(n)g na chaalatee sakhe'ee a(n)t taj jaavat maiaa ||

Maya is fickle, and does not go with you, O my companion; in the end, it will leave you.

ਰਸਿ ਭੋਗਣ ਅਤਿ ਰੂਪ ਰਸ ਮਾਤੇ ਇਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੂਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

ras bhogan at roop ras maate in sa(n)g sookh na paiaa ||

He may enjoy pleasures and sensual delights with supremely beautiful women, but no one finds peace in this way.

ਧੰਨਿ ਧੰਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਸਖੀਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੨॥

dha(n)n dha(n)n har saadh jan sakhe'ee naanak jinee naam dhiaaiaa ||2||

Blessed, blessed are the humble, Holy Saints of the Lord, O my companion. O Nanak, they meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||

ਜਾਇ ਬਸਹੁ ਵਡਭਾਗਣੀ ਸਖੀਏ ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ॥

jai basahu vaddabhaaganee sakhe'ee sa(n)taa sa(n)g samaieeaai ||

Go, O my very fortunate companion: dwell in the Company of the Saints, and merge with the Lord.

ਤਹ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈਐ ॥

teh dhookh na bhookh na rog biaapai charan kamal liv laieeaai ||

There, neither pain nor hunger nor disease will afflict you; enshrine love for the Lord's Lotus Feet.

ਤਹ ਜਨਮ ਨ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥

teh janam na maran na aavan jaanaa nihachal saranee paieeaai ||

There is no birth or death there, no coming or going in reincarnation, when you enter the Sanctuary of the Eternal Lord.

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਿਛੋਹੁ ਨ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੩॥

prem bichhoh na moh biaapai naanak har ek dhiaaieeaai ||3||

Love does not end, and attachment does not grip you, O Nanak, when you meditate on the One Lord. ||3||

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਤੜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥

dhirasaT dhaar man bedhiaa piaare rataRe sahaj subhaae ||

Bestowing His Glance of Grace, my Beloved has pierced my mind, and I am intuitively attuned to His Love.

ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥

sej suhaavee sa(n)g mil preetam anadh ma(n)gal gun gaae ||

My bed is embellished, meeting with my Beloved; in ecstasy and bliss, I sing His Glorious Praises.

ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਏ ॥

sakhee sahelee raam ra(n)g raatee man tan ichh pujaae ||

O my friends and companions, I am imbued with the Lord's Love; the desires of my mind and body are satisfied.

ਨਾਨਕ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਅਚਰਜ ਸਿਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥੪॥੨॥੫॥

naanak acharaj acharaj siau miliaa kahanaa kachhoo na jaae ||4||2||5||

O Nanak, the wonder-struck soul blends with the Wonderful Lord; this state cannot be described. ||4||2||5||

ਰਾਗੁ ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੪

raag bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ghar chauthhaa

Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla, Fourth House:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਏਕ ਰੂਪ ਸਗਲੋ ਪਾਸਾਰਾ ॥

ek roop sagalo paasaaraa ||

The entire Universe is the form of the One Lord.

ਆਪੇ ਬਨਜੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਿਉਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥

aape banaj aap biauhaaraa ||1||

He Himself is the trade, and He Himself is the trader. ||1||

ਐਸੋ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਬਿਰਲੋ ਈ ਪਾਏ ॥

aaiso giaan biralo iee paae ||

How rare is that one who is blessed with such spiritual wisdom.

ਜਤ ਜਤ ਜਾਈਐ ਤਤ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

jat jat jaieeaai tat dhirasaTaae ||1|| rahaau ||

Wherever I go, there I see Him. ||1||Pause||

ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਇਕ ਰੰਗਾ ॥

anik ra(n)g niragun ik ra(n)gaa ||

He manifests many forms, while still unmanifest and absolute, and yet He has One Form.

ਆਪੇ ਜਲੁ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਤਰੰਗਾ ॥੨॥

aape jal aap hee tara(n)gaa ||2||

He Himself is the water, and He Himself is the waves. ||2||

ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਆਪਹਿ ਸੇਵਾ ॥

aap hee ma(n)dhar aapeh sevaa ||

He Himself is the temple, and He Himself is selfless service.

ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੂਜਾਰੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਵਾ ॥੩॥

aap hee poojaaree aap hee dhevaa ||3||

He Himself is the worshipper, and He Himself is the idol. ||3||

ਆਪਹਿ ਜੋਗ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥

aapeh jog aap hee jugataa ||

He Himself is the Yoga; He Himself is the Way.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੬॥

naanak ke prabh sadh hee mukataa ||4||1||6||

Nanak's God is forever liberated. ||4||1||6||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:

ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਵਨ ਆਪਿ ਸਧਰਨਾ ॥

aap upaavan aap sadharanaa ||

He Himself creates, and He Himself supports.

ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਲੈਨਾ ॥੧॥

aap karaavan dhos na lainaa ||1||

He Himself causes all to act; He takes no blame Himself. ||1||

ਆਪਨ ਬਚਨੁ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ॥

aapan bachan aap hee karanaa ||

He Himself is the teaching, and He Himself is the teacher.

ਆਪਨ ਬਿਭਉ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

aapan bibhau aap hee jaranaa ||1|| rahaau ||

He Himself is the splendor, and He Himself is the experiencer of it. ||1||Pause||

ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਸਟਿ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬੁਲਨਾ ॥

aap hee masaT aap hee bulanaa ||

He Himself is silent, and He Himself is the speaker.

ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਛਲੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਛਲਨਾ ॥੨॥

aap hee achhal na jaiee chhalanaa ||2||

He Himself is undeceivable; He cannot be deceived. ||2||

ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਆਪਿ ਪਰਗਟਨਾ ॥

aap hee gupat aap paragaTanaa ||

He Himself is hidden, and He Himself is manifest.

ਆਪ ਹੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਆਪਿ ਅਲਿਪਨਾ ॥੩॥

aap hee ghaT ghaT aap alipanaa ||3||

He Himself is in each and every heart; He Himself is unattached. ||3||

ਆਪੇ ਅਵਿਗਤੁ ਆਪ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਚਨਾ ॥

aape avigat aap sa(n)g rachanaa ||

He Himself is absolute, and He Himself is with the Universe.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਜਚਨਾ ॥੪॥੨॥੭॥

kahu naanak prabh ke sabh jachanaa ||4||2||7||

Says Nanak, all are beggars of God. ||4||2||7||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:

ਭੂਲੇ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਬਤਾਇਆ ॥

bhoole maarag jineh bataiaa ||

He places the one who strays back on the Path;

ਐਸਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥

aaisaa gur vaddabhaagee paiaa ||1||

such a Guru is found by great good fortune. ||1||

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਮਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ॥

simar manaa raam naam chitaare ||

Meditate, contemplate the Name of the Lord, O mind.

ਬਸਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

bas rahe hiradhai gur charan piaare ||1|| rahaau ||

The Beloved Feet of the Guru abide within my heart. ||1||Pause||
