ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਬਸੰਤ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਹ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
dha(n)nu su thaan basa(n)t dha(n)n jeh japeeaai naam ||
Blessed is that place, and blessed are those who dwell there, where they chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਤਿ ਘਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥੩॥
kathaa keeratan har at ghanaa sukh sahaj bisraam ||3||
The Sermon and the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are sung there very often; there is peace, poise and tranquility. ||3||
ਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥
man te kadhe na veesarai anaath ko naath ||
In my mind, I never forget the Lord; He is the Master of the masterless.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਾਥ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੫੯॥
naanak prabh saranaagatee jaa kai sabh kichh haath ||4||29||59||
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God; everything is in His hands. ||4||29||59||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਜਿਨਿ ਤੂ ਬੰਧਿ ਕਰਿ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੁਖ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jin too ba(n)dh kar chhoddiaa fun sukh meh paiaa ||
The One who bound you in the womb and then released you, placed you in the world of joy.
ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਸੀਤਲ ਹੋਤਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
sadhaa simar charanaarabi(n)dh seetal hotaiaa ||1||
Contemplate His Lotus Feet forever, and you shall be cooled and soothed. ||1||
ਜੀਵਤਿਆ ਅਥਵਾ ਮੁਇਆ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
jeevatiaa athavaa muiaa kichh kaam na aavai ||
In life and in death, this Maya is of no use.
ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹੁ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ਕੋਊ ਤਿਸ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jin eh rachan rachaiaa kouoo tis siau ra(n)g laavai ||1|| rahaau ||
He created this creation, but rare are those who enshrine love for Him. ||1||Pause||
ਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਉਸਨ ਸੀਤ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੈ ਘਾਮ ਤੇ ਕਾਢੈ ॥
re praanee usan seet karataa karai ghaam te kaaddai ||
O mortal, the Creator Lord made summer and winter; He saves you from the heat.
ਕੀਰੀ ਤੇ ਹਸਤੀ ਕਰੈ ਟੂਟਾ ਲੇ ਗਾਢੈ ॥੨॥
keeree te hasatee karai TooTaa le gaaddai ||2||
From the ant, He makes an elephant; He reunites those who have been separated. ||2||
ਅੰਡਜ ਜੇਰਜ ਸੇਤਜ ਉਤਭੁਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਕਿਰਤਿ ॥
a(n)ddaj jeraj setaj utabhujaa prabh kee ieh kirat ||
Eggs, wombs, sweat and earth - these are God's workshops of creation.
ਕਿਰਤ ਕਮਾਵਨ ਸਰਬ ਫਲ ਰਵੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਤਿ ॥੩॥
kirat kamaavan sarab fal raveeaai har nirat ||3||
It is fruitful for all to practice contemplation of the Lord. ||3||
ਹਮ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਧ ॥
ham te kachhoo na hovanaa saran prabh saadh ||
I cannot do anything; O God, I seek the Sanctuary of the Holy.
ਮੋਹ ਮਗਨ ਕੂਪ ਅੰਧ ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਢ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੬੦॥
moh magan koop a(n)dh te naanak gur kaadd ||4||30||60||
Guru Nanak pulled me up, out of the deep, dark pit, the intoxication of attachment. ||4||30||60||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਮੈ ਫਿਰਾ ਖੋਜਉ ਬਨ ਥਾਨ ॥
khojat khojat mai firaa khojau ban thaan ||
Searching, searching, I wander around searching, in the woods and other places.
ਅਛਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਐਸੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੧॥
achhal achhedh abhedh prabh aaise bhagavaan ||1||
He is undeceivable, imperishable, inscrutable; such is my Lord God. ||1||
ਕਬ ਦੇਖਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਆਤਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
kab dhekhau prabh aapanaa aatam kai ra(n)g ||
When shall I behold my God, and delight my soul?
ਜਾਗਨ ਤੇ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਭਲਾ ਬਸੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaagan te supanaa bhalaa baseeaai prabh sa(n)g ||1|| rahaau ||
Even better than being awake, is the dream in which I dwell with God. ||1||Pause||
ਬਰਨ ਆਸ੍ਰਮ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਨਉ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
baran aasram saasatr sunau dharasan kee piaas ||
Listening to the Shaastras teaching about the four social classes and the four stages of life, I grow thirsty for the Blessed Vision of the Lord.
ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖ ਨ ਪੰਚ ਤਤ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ ॥੨॥
roop na rekh na pa(n)ch tat Thaakur abinaas ||2||
He has no form or outline, and He is not made of the five elements; our Lord and Master is imperishable. ||2||
ਓਹੁ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਹਹਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਜੋਗੀਸੁਰ ॥
oh saroop sa(n)tan kaheh virale jogeesur ||
How rare are those Saints and great Yogis, who describe the beautiful form of the Lord.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੇ ਧਨਿ ਧਨਿ ਤੇ ਈਸੁਰ ॥੩॥
kar kirapaa jaa kau mile dhan dhan te ieesur ||3||
Blessed, blessed are they, whom the Lord meets in His Mercy. ||3||
ਸੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਬਾਹਰੇ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਤਹ ਭਰਮਾ ॥
so a(n)tar so baahare binase teh bharamaa ||
They know that He is deep within, and outside as well; their doubts are dispelled.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਮਾ ॥੪॥੩੧॥੬੧॥
naanak tis prabh bheTiaa jaa ke pooran karamaa ||4||31||61||
O Nanak, God meets those, whose karma is perfect. ||4||31||61||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਦੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥
jeea ja(n)t suprasa(n)n bhe dhekh prabh parataap ||
All beings and creatures are totally pleased, gazing on God's glorious radiance.
ਕਰਜੁ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਿ ਆਹਰੁ ਆਪ ॥੧॥
karaj utaariaa satiguroo kar aahar aap ||1||
The True Guru has paid off my debt; He Himself did it. ||1||
ਖਾਤ ਖਰਚਤ ਨਿਬਹਤ ਰਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਖੂਟ ॥
khaat kharachat nibahat rahai gur sabadh akhooT ||
Eating and expending it, it is always available; the Word of the Guru's Shabad is inexhaustible.
ਪੂਰਨ ਭਈ ਸਮਗਰੀ ਕਬਹੂ ਨਹੀ ਤੂਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pooran bhiee samagaree kabahoo nahee tooT ||1|| rahaau ||
Everything is perfectly arranged; it is never exhausted. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਆਪਾਰ ॥
saadhasa(n)g aaraadhanaa har nidh aapaar ||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I worship and adore the Lord, the infinite treasure.
ਧਰਮ ਅਰਥ ਅਰੁ ਕਾਮ ਮੋਖ ਦੇਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਬਾਰ ॥੨॥
dharam arath ar kaam mokh dhete nahee baar ||2||
He does not hesitate to bless me with Dharmic faith, wealth, fulfilment of desires and liberation. ||2||
ਭਗਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਏਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥
bhagat araadheh ek ra(n)g gobi(n)dh gupaal ||
The devotees worship and adore the Lord of the Universe with single-minded love.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਹੀ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
raam naam dhan sa(n)chiaa jaa kaa nahee sumaar ||3||
They gather in the wealth of the Lord's Name, which cannot be estimated. ||3||
ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
saran pare prabh tereeaa prabh kee vaddiaaiee ||
O God, I seek Your Sanctuary, the glorious greatness of God. Nanak:
ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥੪॥੩੨॥੬੨॥
naanak a(n)t na paieeaai bea(n)t gusaiee ||4||32||62||
Your end or limitation cannot be found, O Infinite World-Lord. ||4||32||62||

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਾਰਜ ਭਏ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
simar simar pooran prabhoo kaaraj bhe raas ||
Meditate, meditate in remembrance of the Perfect Lord God, and your affairs shall be perfectly resolved.
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਪੁਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਵਸੈ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karataar pur karataa vasai sa(n)tan kai paas ||1|| rahaau ||
In Kartaarpur, the City of the Creator Lord, the Saints dwell with the Creator. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਲਾਗਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
bighan na kouoo laagataa gur peh aradhaas ||
No obstacles will block your way, when you offer your prayers to the Guru.
ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਰਾਇ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
rakhavaalaa gobi(n)dh rai bhagatan kee raas ||1||
The Sovereign Lord of the Universe is the Saving Grace, the Protector of the capital of His devotees. ||1||
