Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਬਿਸਾਰਹੁ ॥
apane sevak kau kabahu na bisaarahu ||
Never forget Your servant, O Lord.
ਉਰਿ ਲਾਗਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਬੀਚਾਰਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aur laagahu suaamee prabh mere poorab preet gobi(n)dh beechaarahu ||1|| rahaau ||
Hug me close in Your embrace, O God, my Lord and Master; consider my primal love for You, O Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਦੋਖ ਰਿਦੈ ਮਤ ਧਾਰਹੁ ॥
patit paavan prabh biradh tum(h)aaro hamare dhokh ridhai mat dhaarahu ||
It is Your Natural Way, God, to purify sinners; please do not keep my errors in Your Heart.
ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਟਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਰਹੁ ॥੧॥
jeevan praan har dhan sukh tum hee haumai paTal kirapaa kar jaarahu ||1||
You are my life, my breath of life, O Lord, my wealth and peace; be merciful to me, and burn away the curtain of egotism. ||1||
ਜਲ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਮੀਨ ਕਤ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੂਧ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਹਨੁ ਕਤ ਬਾਰੋ ॥
jal bihoon meen kat jeevan dhoodh binaa rahan kat baaro ||
Without water, how can the fish survive? Without milk, how can the baby survive?
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਆਸ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਨੑ ਕੀ ਪੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੋ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੨੩॥
jan naanak piaas charan kamalan(h) kee pekh dharas suaamee sukh saaro ||2||7||123||
Servant Nanak thirsts for the Lord's Lotus Feet; gazing upon the Blessed Vision of his Lord and Master's Darshan, he finds the essence of peace. ||2||7||123||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਕੁਸਲੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
aagai paachhai kusal bhiaa ||
Here, and hereafter, there is happiness.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਭ ਰਾਖੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਮਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur poorai pooree sabh raakhee paarabraham prabh keenee miaa ||1|| rahaau ||
The Perfect Guru has perfectly, totally saved me; the Supreme Lord God has been kind to me. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਸਗਲਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ॥
man tan rav rahiaa har preetam dhookh dharadh sagalaa miT giaa ||
The Lord, my Beloved, is pervading and permeating my mind and body; all my pains and sufferings are dispelled.
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਆਨਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਦੂਤ ਦੁਸਟ ਸਭਿ ਹੋਏ ਖਇਆ ॥੧॥
saa(n)t sahaj aanadh gun gaae dhoot dhusaT sabh hoe khiaa ||1||
In celestial peace, tranquility and bliss, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; my enemies and adversaries have been totally destroyed. ||1||
ਗੁਨੁ ਅਵਗੁਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਲਇਆ ॥
gun avagun prabh kachh na beechaario kar kirapaa apunaa kar liaa ||
God has not considered my merits and demerits; in His Mercy, He has made me His own.
ਅਤੁਲ ਬਡਾਈ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਉਚਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਜਇਆ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨੪॥
atul baddaiee achut abinaasee naanak ucharai har kee jiaa ||2||8||124||
Unweighable is the greatness of the immovable and imperishable Lord; Nanak proclaims the victory of the Lord. ||2||8||124||

ਬਿਨੁ ਭੈ ਭਗਤੀ ਤਰਨੁ ਕੈਸੇ ॥
bin bhai bhagatee taran kaise ||
Without the Fear of God, and devotional worship, how can anyone cross over the world-ocean?
ਕਰਹੁ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਰਾਖੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪ ਭਰੋਸੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karahu anugrahu patit udhaaran raakh suaamee aap bharose ||1|| rahaau ||
Be kind to me, O Saving Grace of sinners; preserve my faith in You, O my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਆਵਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਮਦ ਮਾਵਤ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਾਤਾ ਸੁਆਨ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
simaran nahee aavat firat madh maavat bikhiaa raataa suaan jaise ||
The mortal does not remember the Lord in meditation; he wanders around intoxicated by egotism; he is engrossed in corruption like a dog.
ਅਉਧ ਬਿਹਾਵਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਮੋਹਾਵਤ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਬੁਡੇ ਐਸੇ ॥੧॥
aaudh bihaavat adhik mohaavat paap kamaavat budde aaise ||1||
Utterly cheated, his life is slipping away; committing sins, he is sinking away. ||1||
ਸਰਨਿ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਰਵਣੁ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
saran dhukh bha(n)jan purakh nira(n)jan saadhoo sa(n)gat ravan jaise ||
I have come to Your Sanctuary, Destroyer of pain; O Primal Immaculate Lord, may I dwell upon You in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਕੇਸਵ ਕਲੇਸ ਨਾਸ ਅਘ ਖੰਡਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵਤ ਦਰਸ ਦਿਸੇ ॥੨॥੯॥੧੨੫॥
kesav kales naas agh kha(n)ddan naanak jeevat dharas dhise ||2||9||125||
O Lord of beautiful hair, Destroyer of pain, Eradicator of sins, Nanak lives, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||2||9||125||
ਰਾਗੁ ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਦੁਪਦੇ ਘਰੁ ੯
raag bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa dhupadhe ghar nauvaa
Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla, Dho-Padhay, Ninth House:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਆਪਹਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ॥
aapeh mel le ||
He Himself merges us with Himself.
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਆਏ ਤਬ ਤੇ ਦੋਖ ਗਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jab te saran tumaaree aae tab te dhokh ge ||1|| rahaau ||
When I came to Your Sanctuary, my sins vanished. ||1||Pause||
ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਅਰੁ ਚਿੰਤ ਬਿਰਾਨੀ ਸਾਧਹ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ॥
taj abhimaan ar chi(n)t biraanee saadheh saran pe ||
Renouncing egotistical pride and other anxieties, I have sought the Sanctuary of the Holy Saints.
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਰੋਗ ਖਏ ॥੧॥
jap jap naam tum(h)aaro preetam tan te rog khe ||1||
Chanting, meditating on Your Name, O my Beloved, disease is eradicated from my body. ||1||
ਮਹਾ ਮੁਗਧ ਅਜਾਨ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਾਖੇ ਧਾਰਿ ਦਏ ॥
mahaa mugadh ajaan agiaanee raakhe dhaar dhe ||
Even utterly foolish, ignorant and thoughtless persons have been saved by the Kind Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨ ਰਹੇ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੨੬॥
kahu naanak gur pooraa bheTio aavan jaan rahe ||2||1||126||
Says Nanak, I have met the Perfect Guru; my comings and goings have ended. ||2||1||126||

ਜੀਵਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨੀ ॥
jeevau naam sunee ||
Hearing Your Name, I live.
ਜਉ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤਬ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jau suprasa(n)n bhe gur poore tab meree aas punee ||1|| rahaau ||
When the Perfect Guru became pleased with me, then my hopes were fulfilled. ||1||Pause||
ਪੀਰ ਗਈ ਬਾਧੀ ਮਨਿ ਧੀਰਾ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਅਨਦ ਧੁਨੀ ॥
peer giee baadhee man dheeraa mohio anadh dhunee ||
Pain is gone, and my mind is comforted; the music of bliss fascinates me.
ਉਪਜਿਓ ਚਾਉ ਮਿਲਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਖਿਨੀ ॥੧॥
aupajio chaau milan prabh preetam rahan na jai khinee ||1||
The yearning to meet my Beloved God has welled up within me. I cannot live without Him, even for an instant. ||1||
