ਪੰਚ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮਾਰਿ ॥
pa(n)ch si(n)gh raakhe prabh maar ||
God killed the five tigers.
ਦਸ ਬਿਘਿਆੜੀ ਲਈ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥
dhas bighiaaRee liee nivaar ||
He has driven out the ten wolves.
ਤੀਨਿ ਆਵਰਤ ਕੀ ਚੂਕੀ ਘੇਰ ॥
teen aavarat kee chookee gher ||
The three whirl-pools have stopped spinning.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਚੂਕੇ ਭੈ ਫੇਰ ॥੧॥
saadhasa(n)g chooke bhai fer ||1||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the fear of reincarnation is gone. ||1||
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥
simar simar jeevaa govi(n)dh ||
Meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Lord of the Universe, I live.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਦਾਸੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਚਾ ਬਖਸਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirapaa raakhio dhaas apanaa sadhaa sadhaa saachaa bakhasi(n)dh ||1|| rahaau ||
In His Mercy, He protects His slave; the True Lord is forever and ever the forgiver. ||1||Pause||
ਦਾਝਿ ਗਏ ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਪਾਪ ਸੁਮੇਰ ॥
dhaajh ge tiran paap sumer ||
The mountain of sin is burnt down, like straw,
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੂਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੈਰ ॥
jap jap naam pooje prabh pair ||
by chanting and meditating on the Name, and worshipping God's feet.
ਅਨਦ ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਸਭ ਥਾਨਿ ॥
anadh roop pragaTio sabh thaan ||
God, the embodiment of bliss, becomes manifest everywhere.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਜੋਰੀ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਨਿ ॥੨॥
prem bhagat joree sukh maan ||2||
Linked to His loving devotional worship, I enjoy peace. ||2||
ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਓ ਬਾਛਰ ਖੋਜ ॥
saagar tario baachhar khoj ||
I have crossed over the world-ocean, as if it were no bigger than a calf's footprint on the ground.
ਖੇਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਨਹ ਫੁਨਿ ਰੋਜ ॥
khedh na paio neh fun roj ||
I shall never again have to endure suffering or grief.
ਸਿੰਧੁ ਸਮਾਇਓ ਘਟੁਕੇ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
si(n)dh samaio ghaTuke maeh ||
The ocean is contained in the pitcher.
ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਕਉ ਕਿਛੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
karanahaar kau kichh acharaj naeh ||3||
This is not such an amazing thing for the Creator to do. ||3||
ਜਉ ਛੂਟਉ ਤਉ ਜਾਇ ਪਇਆਲ ॥
jau chhooTau tau jai piaal ||
When I am separated from Him, then I am consigned to the nether regions.
ਜਉ ਕਾਢਿਓ ਤਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
jau kaaddio tau nadhar nihaal ||
When He lifts me up and pulls me out, then I am enraptured by His Glance of Grace.
ਪਾਪ ਪੁੰਨ ਹਮਰੈ ਵਸਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
paap pu(n)n hamarai vas naeh ||
Vice and virtue are not under my control.
ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੪॥੪੦॥੫੧॥
rasak rasak naanak gun gaeh ||4||40||51||
With love and affection, Nanak sings His Glorious Praises. ||4||40||51||
ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
raamakalee mahalaa panjavaa ||
Raamkalee, Fifth Mehla:
ਨਾ ਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾ ਮਨੁ ਤੋਹਿ ॥
naa tan teraa naa man toh ||
Neither your body nor your mind belong to you.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਿਆਪਿਆ ਧੋਹਿ ॥
maiaa moh biaapiaa dhoh ||
Attached to Maya, you are entangled in fraud.
ਕੁਦਮ ਕਰੈ ਗਾਡਰ ਜਿਉ ਛੇਲ ॥
kudham karai gaaddar jiau chhel ||
You play like a baby lamb.
ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਜਾਲੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਚਕ੍ਰੁ ਪੇਲ ॥੧॥
achi(n)t jaal kaal chakar pel ||1||
But suddenly, Death will catch you in its noose. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਨਾਇ ਮਨਾ ॥
har charan kamal saranai manaa ||
Seek the Sanctuary of the Lord's lotus feet, O my mind.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam naam jap sa(n)g sahaiee gurmukh paaveh saach dhanaa ||1|| rahaau ||
Chant the Name of the Lord, which will be your help and support. As Gurmukh, you shall obtain the true wealth. ||1||Pause||
ਊਨੇ ਕਾਜ ਨ ਹੋਵਤ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
uoone kaaj na hovat poore ||
Your unfinished worldly affairs will never be resolved.
ਕਾਮਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਮਦਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਝੂਰੇ ॥
kaam karodh madh sadh hee jhoore ||
You shall always regret your sexual desire, anger and pride.
ਕਰੈ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਜੀਅਰੇ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ॥
karai bikaar jeeare kai taiee ||
You act in corruption in order to survive,
ਗਾਫਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਤਸੂਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
gaafal sa(n)g na tasooaa jaiee ||2||
but not even an iota will go along with you, you ignorant fool! ||2||
ਧਰਤ ਧੋਹ ਅਨਿਕ ਛਲ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
dharat dhoh anik chhal jaanai ||
You practice deception, and you know many tricks;
ਕਉਡੀ ਕਉਡੀ ਕਉ ਖਾਕੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਛਾਨੈ ॥
kauddee kauddee kau khaak sir chhaanai ||
for the sake of mere shells, you throw dust upon your head.
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਤਿਸੈ ਨ ਚੇਤੈ ਮੂਲਿ ॥
jin dheeaa tisai na chetai mool ||
You never even think of the One who gave you life.
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਲੋਭੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਸੂਲੁ ॥੩॥
mithiaa lobh na utarai sool ||3||
The pain of false greed never leaves you. ||3||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
paarabraham jab bhe dhiaal ||
When the Supreme Lord God becomes merciful,
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਾਧ ਰਵਾਲ ॥
eih man hoaa saadh ravaal ||
this mind becomes the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਹਸਤ ਕਮਲ ਲੜਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਲਾਇ ॥
hasat kamal laR leeno lai ||
With His lotus hands, He has attached us to the hem of His robe.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੪੧॥੫੨॥
naanak saachai saach samai ||4||41||52||
Nanak merges in the Truest of the True. ||4||41||52||
ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
raamakalee mahalaa panjavaa ||
Raamkalee, Fifth Mehla:
ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥
raajaa raam kee saranai ||
I seek the Sanctuary of the Sovereign Lord.
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nirabhau bhe gobi(n)dh gun gaavat saadhasa(n)g dhukh jai ||1|| rahaau ||
I have become fearless, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, my pains have been taken away. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਬਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
jaa kai raam basai man maahee ||
That person, within whose mind the Lord abides,
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
so jan dhutar pekhat naahee ||
does not see the impassible world-ocean.
ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਅਪਨੇ ॥
sagale kaaj savaare apane ||
All one's affairs are resolved,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਨ ਨਿਤ ਜਪਨੇ ॥੧॥
har har naam rasan nit japane ||1||
by chanting continually the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹਾਥੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਧਰੈ ॥ ਸੋ ਦਾਸੁ ਅਦੇਸਾ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਰੈ ॥
jis kai masatak haath gur dharai || so dhaas adhesaa kaahe karai ||
Why should His slave feel any anxiety? The Guru places His hand upon my forehead.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਕੀ ਚੂਕੀ ਕਾਣਿ ॥
janam maran kee chookee kaan ||
The fear of birth and death is dispelled;
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਕੁਰਬਾਣ ॥੨॥
poore gur uoopar kurabaan ||2||
I am a sacrifice to the Perfect Guru. ||2||
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਭੇਟਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
gur paramesar bheT nihaal ||
I am enraptured, meeting with the Guru, the Transcendent Lord.
ਸੋ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥
so dharasan paae jis hoi dhiaal ||
He alone obtains the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, who is blessed by His Mercy.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੈ ॥
paarabraham jis kirapaa karai ||
One who is blessed by the Grace of the Supreme Lord God,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸੋ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰੈ ॥੩॥
saadhasa(n)g so bhavajal tarai ||3||
crosses over the terrifying world-ocean in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਸਾਧ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
a(n)mrit peevahu saadh piaare ||
Drink in the Ambrosial Nectar, O Beloved Holy people.
ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਸਾਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ ॥
mukh uoojal saachai dharabaare ||
Your face shall be radiant and bright in the Court of the Lord.
ਅਨਦ ਕਰਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
anadh karahu taj sagal bikaar ||
Celebrate and be blissful, and abandon all corruption.
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਉਤਰਹੁ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੪੨॥੫੩॥
naanak har jap utarahu paar ||4||42||53||
O Nanak, meditate on the Lord and cross over. ||4||42||53||
