Chaar Sahibzaade Gurdwara is dedicated to the memory of the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh whose sacrifice is among the most revered episodes in Sikh history. The elder sons, Sahibzada Ajit Singh (17) and Jujhar Singh (13), were martyred fighting the Mughal army at the Battle of Chamkaur in December 1704, while the younger sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh (9) and Fateh Singh (6), were bricked alive by the Mughal governor of Sirhind after refusing to convert to Islam. Their martyrdom is commemorated every December 26 on Shaheedi Diwas (Veer Bal Diwas) at Gurdwaras across the world.
