The Dayton Gurudwara was founded in July 1984 when about a dozen Sikh families from Dayton, Beavercreek, and Springfield came together to form the Sikh Society of Dayton. The community began with monthly prayer services at various locations, later renting space at 1038 Forest Drive in Beavercreek. The Gurdwara building was purchased in December 1994 and renovated through the late 1990s, with regular weekly diwans beginning in 2006.
