Gurdwara Baru Sahib in Sirmaur district is the centerpiece of the 'Valley of Divine Peace,' a vision first conceived by Sant Attar Singh Ji in the early 20th century for a Himalayan center blending spiritual and modern education. Revealed to the world by Sant Teja Singh in 1956, the gurdwara grew from humble beginnings in a mud hut to become the headquarters of the Kalgidhar Trust, which today operates 129 Akal Academy schools educating over 60,000 rural children across northern India alongside a full university campus.
