The Sikh Society of Dayton traces its roots to 1985 when Sikhi, Punjabi language, and Kirtan classes were first established. The community purchased its first Gurdwara building in December 1994 and began regular weekly diwans in 2006. In October 2010, a larger property was purchased at 2320 Harshman Road in Huber Heights, on 11 acres of land, entirely through community donations with no loans. The congregation now comprises 250 to 300 families and employs a full-time Granthi since 2013.
