About
Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Karol Bagh is part of the historic Singh Sabha movement, a Sikh reformist movement that began in 1873 in Amritsar to revitalize Sikh identity, promote education, and counter the influence of Hindu revivalist movements and Christian missionaries. The Singh Sabha movement led to the founding of Khalsa College in Amritsar, the standardization of Sikh ceremonies, and ultimately the formation of the SGPC and the Akali Dal. This Gurdwara in one of Delhi's most prominent residential and commercial areas carries forward that tradition of community empowerment and spiritual education.
