This Gurdwara in Delhi serves the Sikh community of the national capital, which has deep historical roots in the city. Delhi has been an important site in Sikh history since Guru Nanak's visit in 1505, through the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur in 1675, to the Sikh General Baghel Singh's construction of nine historical shrines after his forces entered the city in 1783.
