Gurudwara 9th Patshahi Dhamtan Sahib in Jind district is one of Haryana's most historically significant gurdwaras, commemorating two visits by Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, in 1665. During his first visit, the Guru arrived at the invitation of devotee Bhai Daggo to discourage tobacco cultivation, and he accepted a land donation to establish a preaching center with wells, gardens, and a dharamshala. The name 'Dhamtan' derives from 'Dharamsthan' (place of faith), and the site also holds ancient significance as the purported ashram of sage Valmiki.
