About
Gurdwara Kalgidhar in Tihar, New Delhi, bears the beloved title of Guru Gobind Singh — "Kalgidhar" (Wearer of the Plume) — the tenth Sikh Guru who established the Khalsa in 1699 and gave Sikhs their distinctive identity. Guru Gobind Singh sacrificed his entire family for the faith — his father Guru Tegh Bahadur was martyred, his four sons were killed by the Mughals, and his mother Mata Gujri died in captivity — yet he declared that the Khalsa would flourish. This Gurdwara serves the community in the Tihar area of West Delhi with daily worship and langar.
