Gurudwara Paurh Sahib at Guru Ka Lahore in Bilaspur district marks the site where, according to tradition, Guru Gobind Singh's horse stamped its hoof ('paur' in Punjabi), causing a spring of fresh water to emerge. This is part of the Guru Ka Lahore complex, the cluster of three gurdwaras created when the young Guru declared he would build a 'Lahore' nearby so his wedding to Mata Jito could take place safely in June 1677, rather than risking the journey to Mughal-controlled Lahore.
