Gurdwara Pipli Sahib, located in the Putli Ghar area of Amritsar, commemorates visits by three Sikh Gurus and takes its name from the Pipal tree under which Guru Ram Das built a well to serve thirsty travelers. It is especially associated with Guru Arjan Dev, who personally carried food and water to an exhausted Sangat from Kabul that had camped here, and with Guru Hargobind, who rested at this spot after winning his first battle against the Mughals. The original Pipal tree still stands at the Gurdwara, and the shrine's main annual celebration is held on Basant Panchmi.
