This Gurdwara is dedicated to the memory (Yaadgaar) of Akali Baba Phoola Singh (1761–1823), one of the most fearless Nihang warriors in Sikh history and the Jathedar of the Akal Takht under Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Baba Phoola Singh led the Nihang order with uncompromising adherence to Khalsa discipline and fought valiantly in numerous campaigns, including the battles of Multan and Attock, before falling in battle at Naushera while fighting Afghan forces in the Northwest Frontier. His legacy embodies the Sikh warrior-saint ideal, and this Gurdwara honors his spirit of fearless devotion to the Khalsa.
