Gurudwara Shri Kalgidhar Singh Sabha

Gurdwara Shri Kalgidhar Singh Sabha in Delhi combines two pillars of Sikh identity in its name: "Kalgidhar," the title of Guru Gobind Singh who wore a distinctive feathered plume, and "Singh Sabha," the 19th-century reform movement that revitalized Sikh institutions and identity. Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa in 1699 at Anandpur Sahib, giving Sikhs the distinctive articles of faith (the Five Kakaars) and establishing the principle that the Guru Granth Sahib would serve as the eternal living Guru. This Gurdwara carries forward both the Guru's spiritual vision and the Singh Sabha tradition of community education and reform.
