Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Taraori, Karnal district, marks the deeply sacred site where Bhai Jaita stopped while carrying the severed head of Guru Tegh Bahadur from Delhi to Anandpur Sahib after the Guru's martyrdom in 1675. Here, a local washerman named Bhai Deva Ram placed the Guru's head at the Bhora Sahib and served langar to the exhausted Bhai Jaita. The site later witnessed Sikh military campaigns when Banda Singh Bahadur's forces occupied Taraori's fort after the fall of Sirhind in 1710.
