About
Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Sahib takes its name from "Kalgidhar" (Wearer of the Plume), one of the most beloved titles of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru who wore a distinctive feathered plume (kalgi) in his turban. Guru Gobind Singh is revered for creating the Khalsa in 1699, finalizing the Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal Guru, and sacrificing his entire family for the Sikh faith. This Gurdwara in Amritsar preserves his spiritual legacy and serves as a center for daily worship, kirtan, and langar.
