Nanak Pyau Gurudwara

Gurdwara Nanak Piao Sahib was built at the site where Guru Nanak Dev camped during his 1505 visit to Delhi during the reign of Sultan Sikandar Lodi, and where he personally served water from a well to thirsty travelers — "Piao" meaning "to offer a drink." Pilgrims flocked to the Guru, who distributed all their offerings to the poor and needy while providing food and water to the hungry. The historic well from which Guru Nanak served water is still preserved and functional at the shrine, with volunteers continuing the tradition of serving its waters to visitors.
