Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji Gurudwara

Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji Gurdwara honors one of the most venerated martyrs in Sikh history — Baba Deep Singh (1682–1757), the founder of the Shaheedan Di Misl and the first head of Damdami Taksal, the 300-year-old Sikh seminary established by Guru Gobind Singh. When Afghan invader Ahmad Shah Abdali demolished the Harmandir Sahib and desecrated the sacred pool with cow carcasses in 1757, Baba Deep Singh rallied Sikh forces and vowed not to return alive without liberating the shrine. He was martyred in the ensuing Battle of Amritsar on November 13, 1757, and his memory continues to inspire Sikhs worldwide.
