Founded in 1978, the Sikh Foundation of Virginia is one of the oldest Sikh institutions in the state. The organization purchased five acres of land in 1981, broke ground in 1987, and inaugurated the Gurdwara Sahib on Baisakhi day in 1989. Located at 7250 Ox Road in Fairfax Station, it serves the religious, cultural, and social needs of the Northern Virginia Sikh community with weekly services, langar, and Gurmat school.
