Sikh Society of Thompson, established in 1974, serves the East Indian community in Thompson, Manitoba, 750 kilometres north of Winnipeg in the Hub of the North. The society currently holds monthly congregations in a rental hall and is fundraising to convert a 6,000 square-foot building into the first permanent Gurdwara Sahib in northern Manitoba.
