About
Gurdwara Patshahi Chevin (Sixth Sovereignty) in Amritsar marks a site associated with Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru who introduced the concept of miri-piri — the dual authority of temporal and spiritual power — by wearing two swords after the execution of his father Guru Arjan Dev by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Guru Hargobind transformed the Sikh community into a martial force while maintaining its spiritual foundations, and this Gurdwara commemorates his presence and teachings in the Amritsar area during this pivotal period in Sikh history.
