ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦੁ ਜਨੁ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਆਇ ॥੧੧॥
prahalaadh jan charanee laagaa aai ||11||
The humble servant Prahlaad came and fell at the Lord's Feet. ||11||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ॥
satigur naam nidhaan dhiraRaiaa ||
The True Guru implanted the treasure of the Naam within.
ਰਾਜੁ ਮਾਲੁ ਝੂਠੀ ਸਭ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
raaj maal jhooThee sabh maiaa ||
Power, property and all Maya is false.
ਲੋਭੀ ਨਰ ਰਹੇ ਲਪਟਾਇ ॥
lobhee nar rahe lapaTai ||
But still, the greedy people continue clinging to them.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੧੨॥
har ke naam bin dharageh milai sajai ||12||
Without the Name of the Lord, the mortals are punished in His Court. ||12||
ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
kahai naanak sabh ko kare karaiaa ||
Says Nanak, everyone acts as the Lord makes them act.
ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
se paravaan jinee har siau chit laiaa ||
They alone are approved and accepted, who focus their consciousness on the Lord.
ਭਗਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਦਾ ਆਇਆ ॥
bhagataa kaa a(n)geekaar karadhaa aaiaa ||
He has made His devotees His Own.
ਕਰਤੈ ਅਪਣਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੧੩॥੧॥੨॥
karatai apanaa roop dhikhaiaa ||13||1||2||
The Creator has appeared in His Own Form. ||13||1||2||
ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Bhairao, Third Mehla:
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
gur sevaa te a(n)mirat fal paiaa haumai tirasan bujhaiee ||
Serving the Guru, I obtain the Ambrosial Fruit; my egotism and desire have been quenched.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਸਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
har kaa naam hiradhai man vasiaa manasaa maneh samaiee ||1||
The Name of the Lord dwells within my heart and mind, and the desires of my mind are quieted. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
har jeeau kirapaa karahu mere piaare ||
O Dear Lord, my Beloved, please bless me with Your Mercy.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਦੀਨ ਜਨੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anadhin har gun dheen jan maa(n)gai gur kai sabadh udhaare ||1|| rahaau ||
Night and day, Your humble servant begs for Your Glorious Praises; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he is saved. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਰਤੀ ਅੰਚ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਲਾਈ ॥
sa(n)t janaa kau jam joh na saakai ratee a(n)ch dhookh na laiee ||
The Messenger of Death cannot even touch the humble Saints; it does not cause them even an iota of suffering or pain.
ਆਪਿ ਤਰਹਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰਹਿ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੨॥
aap tareh sagale kul taareh jo teree saranaiee ||2||
Those who enter Your Sanctuary, Lord, save themselves, and save all their ancestors as well. ||2||
ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਹਿ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਏਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
bhagataa kee paij rakheh too aape eh teree vaddiaaiee ||
You Yourself save the honor of Your devotees; this is Your Glory, O Lord.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟਹਿ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਰਤੀ ਨ ਰਾਈ ॥੩॥
janam janam ke kilavikh dhukh kaaTeh dhubidhaa ratee na raiee ||3||
You cleanse them of the sins and the pains of countless incarnations; You love them without even an iota of duality. ||3||
ਹਮ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਕਿਛੁ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
ham mooR mugadh kichh boojheh naahee too aape dheh bujhaiee ||
I am foolish and ignorant, and understand nothing. You Yourself bless me with understanding.
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਸੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥
jo tudh bhaavai soiee karasee avar na karanaa jaiee ||4||
You do whatever You please; nothing else can be done at all. ||4||
ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਤੁਧੁ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ਭੂੰਡੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਈ ॥
jagat upai tudh dha(n)dhai laiaa bhoo(n)ddee kaar kamaiee ||
Creating the world, You have linked all to their tasks - even the evil deeds which men do.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੂਐ ਹਾਰਿਆ ਸਬਦੈ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੫॥
janam padhaarath jooaai haariaa sabadhai surat na paiee ||5||
They lose this precious human life in the gamble, and do not understand the Word of the Shabad. ||5||
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧਾਰਾ ॥
manmukh mareh tin kichhoo na soojhai dhuramat agiaan a(n)dhaaraa ||
The self-willed manmukhs die, understanding nothing; they are enveloped by the darkness of evil-mindedness and ignorance.
ਭਵਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਡੂਬਿ ਮੁਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਰਿ ਭਾਰਾ ॥੬॥
bhavajal paar na paaveh kab hee ddoob mue bin gur sir bhaaraa ||6||
They do not cross over the terrible world-ocean; without the Guru, they drown and die. ||6||
ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਚੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
saachai sabadh rate jan saache har prabh aap milaae ||
True are those humble beings who are imbued with the True Shabad; the Lord God unites them with Himself.
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤੀ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੭॥
gur kee baanee sabadh pachhaatee saach rahe liv laae ||7||
Through the Word of the Guru's Bani, they come to understand the Shabad. They remain lovingly focused on the True Lord. ||7||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਨ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
too(n) aap niramal tere jan hai niramal gur kai sabadh veechaare ||
You Yourself are Immaculate and Pure, and pure are Your humble servants who contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੮॥੨॥੩॥
naanak tin kai sadh balihaarai raam naam ur dhaare ||8||2||3||
Nanak is forever a sacrifice to those, who enshrine the Lord's Name within their hearts. ||8||2||3||
ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਅਸਟਪਦੀਆ ਘਰੁ ੨
bhairau mahalaa panjavaa asaTapadheeaa ghar doojaa
Bhairao, Fifth Mehla, Ashtpadheeyaa, Second House:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੋਈ ਵਡ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
jis naam ridhai soiee vadd raajaa ||
He alone is a great king, who keeps the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within his heart.
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾਜਾ ॥
jis naam ridhai tis poore kaajaa ||
One who keeps the Naam in his heart - his tasks are perfectly accomplished.
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਨਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਧਨ ਪਾਏ ॥
jis naam ridhai tin koT dhan paae ||
One who keeps the Naam in his heart, obtains millions of treasures.
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
naam binaa janam birathaa jaae ||1||
Without the Naam, life is useless. ||1||
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
tis saalaahee jis har dhan raas ||
I praise that person, who has the capital of the Lord's Wealth.
ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹਾਥੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
so vaddabhaagee jis gur masatak haath ||1|| rahaau ||
He is very fortunate, on whose forehead the Guru has placed His Hand. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੋਟ ਕਈ ਸੈਨਾ ॥
jis naam ridhai tis koT kiee sainaa ||
One who keeps the Naam in his heart, has many millions of armies on his side.
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੈਨਾ ॥
jis naam ridhai tis sahaj sukhainaa ||
One who keeps the Naam in his heart, enjoys peace and poise.
