ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
nadhar kare chookai abhimaan ||
When the Lord bestows His Glance of Grace, egotism is eradicated.
ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
saachee dharageh paavai maan ||
Then, the mortal is honored in the Court of the True Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
har jeeau vekhai sadh hajoor ||
He sees the Dear Lord always close at hand, ever-present.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੩॥
gur kai sabadh rahiaa bharapoor ||3||
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he sees the Lord pervading and permeating all. ||3||
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਕੀ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
jeea ja(n)t kee kare pratipaal ||
The Lord cherishes all beings and creatures.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਦ ਸਮੑਾਲ ॥
gur parasaadhee sadh sam(h)aal ||
By Guru's Grace, contemplate Him forever.
ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
dhar saachai pat siau ghar jai ||
You shall go to your true home in the Lord's Court with honor.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੩॥
naanak naam vaddaiee pai ||4||3||
O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, you shall be blessed with glorious greatness. ||4||3||

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ॥
a(n)tar poojaa man te hoi ||
One who worships the Lord within his mind,
ਏਕੋ ਵੇਖੈ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
eko vekhai aaur na koi ||
sees the One and Only Lord, and no other.
ਦੂਜੈ ਲੋਕੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
dhoojai lokee bahut dhukh paiaa ||
People in duality suffer terrible pain.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੈਨੋ ਏਕੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
satigur maino ek dhikhaiaa ||1||
The True Guru has shown me the One Lord. ||1||
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤੁ ॥
meraa prabh mauliaa sadh basa(n)t ||
My God is in bloom, forever in spring.
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
eih man mauliaa gai gun gobi(n)dh ||1|| rahaau ||
This mind blossoms forth, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਤੁਮੑ ਕਰਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
gur poochhahu tum(h) karahu beechaar ||
So consult the Guru, and reflect upon His wisdom;
ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਚੇ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
taa(n) prabh saache lagai piaar ||
then, you shall be in love with the True Lord God.
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਹੋਹਿ ਦਾਸਤ ਭਾਇ ॥
aap chhodd hoh dhaasat bhai ||
Abandon your self-conceit, and be His loving servant.
ਤਉ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
tau jagajeevan vasai man aai ||2||
Then, the Life of the World shall come to dwell in your mind. ||2||
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਸਦ ਵੇਖੈ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
bhagat kare sadh vekhai hajoor ||
Worship Him with devotion, and see Him always ever-present, close at hand.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
meraa prabh sadh rahiaa bharapoor ||
My God is forever permeating and pervading all.
ਇਸੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਭੇਉ ॥
eis bhagatee kaa koiee jaanai bheau ||
Only a rare few know the mystery of this devotional worship.
ਸਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਤਮ ਦੇਉ ॥੩॥
sabh meraa prabh aatam dheau ||3||
My God is the Enlightener of all souls. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
aape satigur mel milaae ||
The True Guru Himself unites us in His Union.
ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਸਿਉ ਆਪਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
jagajeevan siau aap chit laae ||
He Himself links our consciousness to the Lord, the Life of the World.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥
man tan hariaa sahaj subhaae ||
Thus, our minds and bodies are rejuvenated with intuitive ease.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੪॥
naanak naam rahe liv laae ||4||4||
O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, we remain attuned to the String of His Love. ||4||4||

ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
bhagat vachhal har vasai man aai ||
The Lord is the Lover of His devotees; He dwells within their minds,
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
gur kirapaa te sahaj subhai ||
by Guru's Grace, with intuitive ease.
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਖੋਇ ॥
bhagat kare vichahu aap khoi ||
Through devotional worship, self-conceit is eradicated from within,
ਤਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਚਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
tadh hee saach milaavaa hoi ||1||
and then, one meets the True Lord. ||1||
ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥
bhagat soheh sadhaa har prabh dhuaar ||
His devotees are forever beauteous at the Door of the Lord God.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur kai het saachai prem piaar ||1|| rahaau ||
Loving the Guru, they have love and affection for the True Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
bhagat kare so jan niramal hoi ||
That humble being who worships the Lord with devotion becomes immaculate and pure.
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਖੋਇ ॥
gur sabadhee vichahu haumai khoi ||
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, egotism is eradicated from within.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
har jeeau aap vasai man aai ||
The Dear Lord Himself comes to dwell within the mind,
ਸਦਾ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
sadhaa saa(n)t sukh sahaj samai ||2||
and the mortal remains immersed in peace, tranquility and intuitive ease. ||2||
ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤ ॥
saach rate tin sadh basa(n)t ||
Those who are imbued with Truth, are forever in the bloom of spring.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਰਵਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੁਵਿੰਦ ॥
man tan hariaa rav gun guvi(n)dh ||
Their minds and bodies are rejuvenated, uttering the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸੂਕਾ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
bin naavai sookaa sa(n)saar ||
Without the Lord's Name, the world is dry and parched.
ਅਗਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲੈ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥੩॥
agan tirasanaa jalai vaaro vaar ||3||
It burns in the fire of desire, over and over again. ||3||
ਸੋਈ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
soiee kare j har jeeau bhaavai ||
One who does only that which is pleasing to the Dear Lord
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਰੀਰਿ ਭਾਣੈ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
sadhaa sukh sareer bhaanai chit laavai ||
- his body is forever at peace, and his consciousness is attached to the Lord's Will.
ਅਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
apanaa prabh seve sahaj subhai ||
He serves His God with intuitive ease.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੪॥੫॥
naanak naam vasai man aai ||4||5||
O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, comes to abide in his mind. ||4||5||

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ॥

Attachment to Maya is burnt away by the Word of the Shabad.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ॥
man tan hariaa satigur bhaae ||
The mind and body are rejuvenated by the Love of the True Guru.
ਸਫਲਿਓੁ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥
safalio birakh har kai dhuaar ||
The tree bears fruit at the Lord's Door,
ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੧॥
saachee baanee naam piaar ||1||
in love with the True Bani of the Guru's Word, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਏ ਮਨ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
e man hariaa sahaj subhai ||
This mind is rejuvenated, with intuitive ease;
ਸਚ ਫਲੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sach fal laagai satigur bhai ||1|| rahaau ||
loving the True Guru, it bears the fruit of truth. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
aape neRai aape dhoor ||
He Himself is near, and He Himself is far away.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
gur kai sabadh vekhai sadh hajoor ||
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, He is seen to be ever-present, close at hand.
ਛਾਵ ਘਣੀ ਫੂਲੀ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥
chhaav ghanee foolee banarai ||
The plants have blossomed forth, giving a dense shade.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੨॥
gurmukh bigasai sahaj subhai ||2||
The Gurmukh blossoms forth, with intuitive ease. ||2||
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
anadhin keeratan kareh dhin raat ||
Night and day, he sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, day and night.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜੂਠਿ ਭਰਾਂਤਿ ॥
satigur gavaiee vichahu jooTh bharaa(n)t ||
The True Guru drives out sin and doubt from within.
