Kaanraa, Chhant, Fifth Mehla:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਸੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਰਾਮ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
se udhare jin raam dhiaae ||
They alone are saved, who meditate on the Lord.
ਜਤਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਏ ॥
jatan maiaa ke kaam na aae ||
Working for Maya is useless.
ਰਾਮ ਧਿਆਏ ਸਭਿ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਧਨਿ ਧੰਨਿ ਤੇ ਬਡਭਾਗੀਆ ॥
raam dhiaae sabh fal paae dhan dha(n)n te baddabhaageeaa ||
Meditating on the Lord, all fruits and rewards are obtained. They are blessed, blessed and very fortunate.
ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਗੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀਆ ॥
satasa(n)g jaage naam laage ek siau liv laageeaa ||
They are awake and aware in the True Congregation; attached to the Naam, they are lovingly attuned to the One.
ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਲਗਿ ਤਰਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਪਾਏ ॥
taj maan moh bikaar saadhoo lag tarau tin kai paae ||
I have renounced pride, emotional attachment, wickedness and corruption; attached to the Holy, I am carried across at their feet.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਡਭਾਗਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥
binava(n)t naanak saran suaamee baddabhaag dharasan paae ||1||
Prays Nanak, I have come to the Sanctuary of my Lord and Master; by great good fortune, I obtain the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ||1||
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਨਿਤ ਭਜਹ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ॥
mil saadhoo nit bhajeh naarain ||
The Holy meet together, and continually vibrate and meditate on the Lord.
ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਣ ॥
rasak rasak suaamee gun gain ||
With love and excitement, they sing the Glorious Praises of their Lord and Master.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਜੀਵਹ ਹਰਿ ਅਮਿਉ ਪੀਵਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣਾ ਭਾਗਏ ॥
gun gai jeeveh har amiau peeveh janam maranaa bhaage ||
Singing His Praises they live, drinking in the Lord's Nectar; the cycle of birth and death is over for them.
ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗਏ ॥
satasa(n)g paieeaai har dhiaaieeaai bahuR dhookh na laage ||
Finding the True Congregation and meditating on the Lord, one is never again afflicted with pain.
ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਦਾਤੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਇਣ ॥
kar dhiaa dhaate purakh bidhaate sa(n)t sev kamain ||
By the Grace of the Great Giver, the Architect of Destiny, we work to serve the Saints.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਧੂਰਿ ਬਾਂਛਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਣ ॥੨॥
binava(n)t naanak jan dhoor baa(n)chheh har dharas sahaj samain ||2||
Prays Nanak, I long for the dust of the feet of the humble; I am intuitively absorbed in the Blessed Vision of the Lord. ||2||
ਸਗਲੇ ਜੰਤ ਭਜਹੁ ਗੋਪਾਲੈ ॥
sagale ja(n)t bhajahu gopaalai ||
All beings vibrate and meditate on the Lord of the World.
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲੈ ॥
jap tap sa(n)jam pooran ghaalai ||
This brings the merits of chanting and meditation, austere self-discipline and perfect service.
ਨਿਤ ਭਜਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥
nit bhajahu suaamee a(n)tarajaamee safal janam sabaiaa ||
Vibrating and meditating continuously on our Lord and Master, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, one's life becomes totally fruitful.
ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਨਿਤ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਸੋਈ ਆਇਆ ॥
gobidh gaieeaai nit dhiaaieeaai paravaan soiee aaiaa ||
Those who sing and meditate continually on the Lord of the Universe - their coming into the world is blessed and approved.
ਜਪ ਤਾਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਾਲੈ ॥
jap taap sa(n)jam har har nira(n)jan gobi(n)dh dhan sa(n)g chaalai ||
The Immaculate Lord, Har, Har, is meditation and chanting, and austere self-discipline; only the Wealth of the Lord of the Universe shall go along with you in the end.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਦੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਬਾਧਉ ਪਾਲੈ ॥੩॥
binava(n)t naanak kar dhiaa dheejai har ratan baadhau paalai ||3||
Prays Nanak, please grant Your Grace, O Lord, and bless me with the Jewel, that I may carry it in my pocket. ||3||
ਮੰਗਲਚਾਰ ਚੋਜ ਆਨੰਦਾ ॥
ma(n)galachaar choj aana(n)dhaa ||
His Wondrous and Amazing Plays are blissful
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮਿਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥
kar kirapaa mile paramaana(n)dhaa ||
granting His Grace, He bestows supreme ecstasy.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖਹਗਾਮੀ ਇਛ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪੁੰਨੀਆ ॥
prabh mile suaamee sukhahagaamee ichh man kee pu(n)neeaa ||
God, my Lord and Master, the Bringer of peace, has met me, and the desires of my mind are fulfilled.
ਬਜੀ ਬਧਾਈ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਮਾਈ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖਿ ਨ ਰੁੰਨੀਆ ॥
bajee badhaiee sahaje samaiee bahuR dhookh na ru(n)neeaa ||
Congratulations pour in; I am intuitively absorbed in the Lord. I shall never again cry out in pain.
ਲੇ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਏ ਸੁਖ ਦਿਖਾਏ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਮੰਦਾ ॥
le ka(n)Th laae sukh dhikhaae bikaar binase ma(n)dhaa ||
He hugs me close in His Embrace, and blesses me with peace; the evil of sin and corruption is gone.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥੪॥੧॥
binava(n)t naanak mile suaamee purakh paramaana(n)dhaa ||4||1||
Prays Nanak, I have met my Lord and Master, the Primal Lord, the Embodiment of Bliss. ||4||1||

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਖੁ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
raam naam nidhaan har gurmat rakh ur dhaar ||
Follow the Guru's Teachings, and enshrine the Treasure of the Lord's Name within your heart.
ਦਾਸਨ ਦਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ਰਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਾਰਿ ॥
dhaasan dhaasaa hoi rahu haumai bikhiaa maar ||
Become the slave of the Lord's slaves, and conquer egotism and corruption.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤਿਆ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਾਰਿ ॥
janam padhaarath jeetiaa kadhe na aavai haar ||
You shall win this treasure of life; you shall never lose.
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਸਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
dhan dhan vaddabhaagee naanakaa jin gurmat har ras saar ||1||
Blessed, blessed and very fortunate are those, O Nanak, who savor the Sublime Essence of the Lord through the Guru's Teachings. ||1||

ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
govi(n)dh govidh govidh har govidh gunee nidhaan ||
Govind, Govind, Govind - the Lord God, the Lord of the Universe is the Treasure of Virtue.
ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਤਾਂ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
govidh govidh gurmat dhiaaieeaai taa(n) dharageh paieeaai maan ||
Meditating on Govind, Govind, the Lord of the Universe, through the Guru's Teachings, you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord.
